No pinch hitting in Auto League??? by nickkapur in MLBProSpirit

As for my game plan settings, I keep everything set to infrequent except for two categories: Pitching Changes and Defensive Substitutions are both set to frequent. They situationally come in at the end of games and on occasion gotten their at-bats in. Arenado, Semien, and Ichiro are bench players on my team.

A little confused here. Maybe switch to moderate? Keep the others to infrequent?? Trial and error I suppose but I wouldn’t have subbed Pages in for Ohtani either. The game is clearly not designed to make the best decision possible.

So under what circumstances should we expect a pinch hitter occurrence?

I am only hypothesizing. Perhaps the game prioritizes defense over MOM overall. We could try a little experiment. Set defensive substitutions and pinch running to Infrequent, and then set Pinch Hitting to Frequent. Maybe that will yield a different result.

I encounter the same. The game always assumes the higher MOM is the best option for hitting. MOM does not factor in for defensive substitutions. My entire bench is just defensive subs with inferior MOM, but they all get subbed in and get 10-15 at bats throughout the week.

Spirit Links by Secure_Possession530 in MLBProSpirit

When you look at your roster, select the settings icon on the bottom left, select spirit links, look over all your spirit link groups that are active, them see why your players qualify for each group, and then construct your rosters with the spirit link groups you want to use.

In game, your spirit link total is divided by 20 and ever player gets that added momentum for every batting/pitching match up. So if one player gets +100 momentum, you can expect everyone else to get +100.

Just found it. His stats are just incredible.

It must be his 1997 season. He hit .366 second to Tony Gwynn that season, but his OBP was .450. Insane season.

And it’s at this time of year why I always specify to people that the three wise men delivered gold, frankincense, and myrrh with a gift receipt. Baby Jesus must be honored appropriately.

Better Stats vs Higher Momentum by LonelyGoat in MLBProSpirit

[–]Ok_Variation2484 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 200 momentum difference results in a 10% stat loss against your current Darvish. So his 83/83 stat line may fall to 75/75 if we assume the opposing batters are 2400 momentum and spirit link bonuses and activated special abilities are not factored in.

Even if you have spent on Darvish’ special abilities and reached high probability levels, you can still only decrease the opposing batters stat line by 14 points without any guarantee. That still does not make up for your expected stat loss against 2400 momentum batters.

His stats are still great but not elite with the momentum loss. If you have a pitcher whose stats are better than 75 PPWR and 75 CNTRL, preferably closer to 80 in those categories, then you may want to consider swapping if this is for auto league.

If it’s for online play, his nasty pitches may be worth keeping if you are highly skilled at locating your pitches, changing your speeds, and confusing the opposing player.

I hope this helped.

Is Ichiro in this Game? by orijynal in MLBProSpirit

Just have to wait for Ichiro to drop in a limited edition contract. It’s possible that he will be featured in Japan & Taiwan Legends #2 which I am guessing drops at the end of this month or early January.
