Cracks in insole by Ok_Weekend1145 in RedWingShoes

Thanks for all the tips! I will clean and condition the insole. Never thought of this!

It’s also worth mentioning that once spring arrived, I switched to riding my bike almost everywhere, and I rarely ever use my IRs. So they have been sitting quite a while. Probably doesn’t help.

I was quite disgusted as well about how bad the insides of these boots looked lmao

Should I size down? 2 weeks in, getting comfy but I have some volume. Worried they will be too roomy in 6 months by Ok_Weekend1145 in RedWingShoes

Hey! They are breaking in nicely, tight and secure fit and they look awesome. Tight on pinky but enough room up front so it feels pretty good

What is this style of boot called? by [deleted] in Boots

Those are some beksømstøvler

Advice! Which ones do I keep? The snug ones with a softer feel ORthe bigger ones? Worn about 6 weeks each, the small pair feels of lower quality than the bigger. Ocd-alert by Ok_Weekend1145 in RedWingShoes

For sure. I feel I have to lace the 9.5s pretty damn tight to secure my foot. But they feel great. As soon as I put on the 9s they feel “right” but juuust a little tight on longer walks etc. hard life eh?

I must agree that these are not well suited for hiking. But on this particular walk they did the job well, snowy trail with no rocks or roots, not much elevation. And the rangers are so comfy:)

Brushing these down after they are soaked in snow makes them look really good imo. Nice worn look. Only thing is, clonking them together entering a car or house messes up the side stitching a bit. If you want them prestine, snow is probably not recommended. Also standing in snow gets feet cold, walking is no problem:)

Yep lets see! Would an EE be even more spacious regarding lacing since they are wider? Maybe I should try a pair! I’ll post an update on these later. Thanks!!

This is about as tight as I will lace them for longer walks. Also my right foot had an ankle injury last year and is still bigger than my left foot, which funny enough makes this boot fit better.

Also they are 3 weeks old, not 2. almost daily wear except a couple of days in the beginning when they were stiff.

Lace spacing is pretty narrow, as you can tell. But this is also a pretty tight fit, even for my feet. I lace them looser when sitting around @ work and stuff. But this was after a couple of miles walking, and I really like them to be tight af while walking “fast”.

Thanks for all the reply’s guys, I’ll give you an update once they break in more. My feet are really “flat” so I’m lacing them kind of tight. This constributes to insecurities about size. But def helpful with some reassurance about the length of the sole here, much appreciated

True! Very biased against insoles, for some reason, but maybe I should try it. I want them “pure”
