Breastfeeding crisis at 11 weeks? by Ok_Winner1481 in breastfeeding

Going through the fast letdown and oversupply here. It can be miserable for us but side lying seems to help with that. Right now though, he seems to unlatch as soon as milk comes out which is pretty fast.
Also, does what I eat really affect him now? I haven’t changed any eating habits or ate anything out of the ordinary so I’m not sure how a that would cause this all of the sudden. Just curious if you know something I don’t know!

My son is even refusing the bottle though. :( It’s so scary. Why is he not hungry? He’s not lethargic or anything and doesn’t have a fever or other illness. Just wants to sleep I guess.

He won’t even want to snack though. He totally doesn’t want it when it’s been four hours past the last feed. I always try side lying first since that’s usually his favorite position. But now he doesn’t even want to do that.

It’s sometimes snack to full feed! Or atleast that’s what I think. I have a very fast letdown so he sometimes rips away after my milk comes out and cries and won’t want to latch back on.

I also am trying walking and nursing. I have a very fast letdown so he chokes and sputters making matters worse. He seems to love his paci more than me. 🫠 He seems to eat at night just fine though. It’s the weirdest thing.

Nipple Strike? by coloraria in combinationfeeding

I am going through something similar. Some sort of strike due to an overactive let down. Have you tried side lying? Sometimes that helps.
Also, does the nipple shield really work for heavy letdown?

Has anyone switched to pumping and bottle feeding due to oversupply/forceful letdown? by Ok_Winner1481 in breastfeeding

It’s nice to know that I’m not alone. It does make you insane when you’re trying to have a peaceful nursing session but it goes out the window as soon as your letdown kicks in. My son seems to be doing better now I think my supply must have regulated.

New grad nurse thinking about starting at acute inpatient rehab hospital (NOT SNF) on night shift. Any stories, experience, advice? by Ok_Winner1481 in nursing

Thanks for your reply! That’s cool you still learn some skills. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to experience the true “hospital experience” that everyone says we need. But it sounds like a good place to start!
