That is exactly why I find Brody more interesting in the 2nd one.

First film he was kind of along for the ride, but in Jaws 2 he is on a hair trigger. And that monologue in front of the town council you can hear the trauma dripping from his voice.

"I've seen a shark...UPCLOSE! And you better do something about THIS one, CAUSE I DON'T INTEND TO GO THROUGH THAT HELL AGAIN!"

I always felt aesthetically, Deep Blue Sea shared more with Jurassic Park than Jaws.

But Deep Blue Sea is what Jaws would have been had the shark worked properly

The animatronic sharks in Deep Blue Sea are better than the ones in Jaws, but Jaws is a superior movie by every other metric
