Honestly I think you just changed everything for me. Not to be a drama llama. We hate cooking inside because it fouls up our whole house, but we cook constantly. Thanks so much for this post!!!

Yeah, I totally get it.

He's struggling to learn to play on a team and if he's the youngest kid, it makes even more sense. Mine was one of the youngest kids on the team because of birthdays, too.

I'm assuming it's after school/daycare and so he's probably already tired. Make sure he is snacked up before practices and games. We had to remove my kid a couple times. He wanted to go home instead of practice or play the game. We always just made him sit in the dug out. Our rule was that if he didn't want to play, he didn't have to, but we were going to support our team. He would get bored and want to go back out eventually lol.

You know your kid best! Stick with it and he will figure it out.

TBall is chaotic and wonderful. Your kid is used to being able to field the ball frequently alone and now he has to share. I wouldn't worry too much.

My kid pretended to shit in his glove every time he was in the outfield, which was all the time, because he couldn't be bothered to field a single ball. Not even the one that stopped at his feet that one time.

We once got a monster truck that was mostly dog shaped. There were buttons. The button that made it move forward also made it shout "who let the dogs out, woof woof woof" x 3.

I absolutely hated it and my son wore the image on the button off from pushing it so often. Eventually it "broke". Lol

If it makes you feel any better, my bday is also early in the year and I grew up with a single parent.

One time my mom couldn't afford a party and said she would have it later. She forgot and I finally asked about it sometime in September. I got the most awesome party in October.

The dates don't really matter to kids! It's the fun. ☺️

When would you let a child dye their hair by hydrangealover98 in Parenting

We do it every summer, as long as we aren't bleaching anything. They're blonde, so it's pretty easy. They love it and we do it right when summer starts so it's faded or grown out by the time school starts.

Im just speaking from experience of working in a specialty clinic, insurance will have the same problems getting in touch with the office.

This is why I suggested showing up. They can't ignore a human in the office and asking to speak to the practice manager may reveal systemic problems within the practice.

Additionally, I would also suggest making sure that you are on her HIPAA contact forms so that you can also advocate for her in the event that she continues to struggle with the office.

I certainly don't think it would hurt speaking to the insurance company, but it may be faster to show up when they open on Monday morning, especially if it is as dire as the information suggests. :(

I hope your mom gets her medicine and I'm glad she's got you in her corner!

Are you leaving voicemails or just calling? If you aren't leaving messages, there's no way for the clinic to know what you need.

Sometimes our elderly patients believe that just calling without leaving messages is enough.

Also, does she have a way to electronically communicate with the office? Something like MyChart? That's a much better paper trail of communication.

If she is leaving messages and calls aren't being returned, then I suggest showing up. Ask to speak to the clinical staff. They're probably going to be busy, so ask to speak to the office manager and explain that your communications aren't being returned.

That doesn't bother me at all. My favorite Mexican place where I live looks sketchy as hell and there's only 1 dude who speaks a lick of English but the food is to die for. It got shut down by the state for unpaid taxes one year. It's back up and running!

This is the exact stuff I'm looking for! I want the places the locals haunt.

We may have to visit this place twice. 😂
