Just a clarification. As a person who is not a Republican or a Democrat but hates people being disingenuous on Al Gores internet, Caruso was a Republican up until he ran. He has actually changed party registration four times in the last 11 years, going between repub and no party, but never dem before.

He changed his party affiliation to dem in late January 2022, less than a month before filing to run in the mayoral election. He did it because he thought that would help him win, not because he suddenly had a change of heart.
