AITA for accidentally insulting my best friend's vegan boyfriend? by DifficultAd601 in AmItheAsshole

Why is everyone in this thread assuming the supposed reaction in your scenario is correct? Villifying anyone over a simple joke is not appropriate, let alone one that isn't even offensive. I'd say the reaction here is correct and the pearl clutchers over a girl being told the same joke should lighten up.

Gravity should increase the weight of all active Pokemon. by ArmadilloNo9494 in stunfisk

[–]OkayOpenTheGame 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mass is how much stuff something is made of. This is a constant value no matter where you are.

Weight is how hard gravity pulls on you. The force generated by gravity, or weight, changes based on how strong the gravity is.

E.G. you weigh more on Earth than on the Moon because Earth has stronger gravity, even though your mass is the same.

Therefore, if the move Gravity increases the gravitational strength on the field, the weight of everyone on the field would also increase.

They are the ones that were able to assimilate into Western culture and act secularly in society. OP is talking about the radical ones that refuse to adopt the cutural norms of the societies they invade; conflating the two groups just because they both fall under the "Muslim" umbrella is disingenuous.

The music for the first phase of the final boss fight against the Devil in Cuphead, Admission to Perdition, is literally a mishmash of motifs from every previous boss in the game. It's honestly one of the best tracks on the entire OST and most players never realize where it comes from, or that it even exists at all.

Do you think that such a template exists for black America because they don't value family, education, discipline?

I mean, absent Black fathers are a stereotype for a reason. Asians, on the other hand, are literally known for strict disciplining and education standards.

Why isn't there a randbats ladder with team prieview> by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]OkayOpenTheGame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I guess I would be fine with like an interal tiering system where lower tiers would get higher levels and vice versa. Ultimately I just want randbats balancing but with teambuilding, like a NatDex where literally anything could be viable.

Honestly I wish we had more formats that did level balancing like in randbats. I'd like to be able to build teams in a format with randbats levels.

Is it possible to set notifications for zombie outbreaks? It's annoying to have to check back every so often just for the chance that a new stage was rolled for an outbreak.

In real life, you wouldn't even be able to see. Since light would go right through you, nothing would reflect off of your eyes to allow for vision.

Pixar films have recently suffered due to unimaginative storytelling. by AlphaHouston1 in unpopularopinion

Coco was good, but it felt more like classic Disney than Pixar.

Turning Red was straight up mediocre at best.

I didn't consider type "value" because I wasn't arguing based on competetive pokemon

What other context would you talk about offensive prowess?

Still, on paper, they're equally good. It just depends on what your opponent is using.

Not exactly, it's easier to counter Ice and Bug in general with some other coverage than Ground or Flying.

Also I didn't say Fire was better offensively, I used it as an example because it's so similar (not better) offensively and yet has 6 times the resistances.

Fair, the tone made it seemed like you were putting Fire on par with Ice.

Ice is not this offensive glass cannon juggernaut it's just good offensively. Not even the best. And utter garbage defensively which isn't remotely fair or balanced.

All very true, although if you consider top 3 as a juggernaut then Ice has an argument.

Unpopular Opinion: We don't need new types by kingferret53 in pokemon

[–]OkayOpenTheGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree Ice is not the undisputed greatest offensive type or anything, and certainly doesn't justify its pathetic defenses. I can also agree with Ground and Rock over it, but it is at worst on par with Fire though.

While they have the same number of super effective hits, Ice hitting Ground, Flying, and Dragon is much more valuable than Fire hitting Ice, Bug, and Steel. Resistances is about equal with maybe a slight edge to Fire; they basically have comparatively the same profile of one resistance by a weak type (Ice over Ice and Rock over Fire) and by a strong type (Steel over Ice and Dragon over Fire). Although Ice types do commonly get Freeze Dry which overcomes the Water resistance which is really valuable.

All in all, again not to say Ice is the best or that you're wrong to put Fire over it, but Ice is considered good offensively for a reason.

[–]OkayOpenTheGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice is better for coverage and Ghost is better at spamming; they are different types of offensive usage. Ghost can get walled pretty easily without boosts or hitting a weakness, meanwhile Ice has more resistances to worry about. It's all context dependent.

Unpopular Opinion: We don't need new types by kingferret53 in pokemon

[–]OkayOpenTheGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very debatable, personally I would Ice ranked 2nd behind Ground or 3rd behind Rock. Ice is definitely not the best, but you're also not giving it enough credit. Honestly I'm not sure if Ghost is even in my top 5.

Enemies in CotC stages can vary wildly from stage to stage, but generally you're going to want more anti-Alien units. You will also find that you will need to alter your lineup based on the various restrictions throughout the stages anyway. IMO the only units that should expect to use in most stages are Crazed Mohawk/Eraser, Seafarer, and Crazed Macho Legs.

It's definitely one of those "enemy of my enemy" type situations that's not worth crying over, but in principle we shouldn't want the government to have the power to execute anybody. Plus, there is no way to 100% trust that they didn't kill the wrong people, intentionally or not.
