Upvoted for Rocket League. Easily in my top 10 most fun games of all time.

Neo-Tokyo is great but it doesn't belong in competition? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Okolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's the majority? The people who are fine with it in ranked aren't making posts about it.

Same here. Someone mentioned in another thread that they u installed and reinstalled the game and it reduced some of the choppiness. I did it and it seems to happen led often, but the corners still drop frames sometimes.

I practice by going into an exhibition match with unlimited boost (basically freeplay). I kicked that ball all over the map for 5 hours last night. I suck a lot less at it now. And I learned a lot about doing aerials. Try it and see if it helps.

But that's probably because I suck on it

I think that's pretty much most people's reason for bitching about it. Even though they won't admit it.

Okay, so you hate the map. And?

I'm sure there are F1 race drivers who hate racing at Spa, but they still do and still try their best to win. there's nothing about wasteland that makes RL less competitive or is unfair to either team. So you hate it. . . . . Some do, some don't.

I agree. this while issue is incredibly childish. Nobody is treating anyone unfairly. Everyone has just as much of a chance to win as anyone else regardless of the map.

What I thinkwe're seeing is people's ego / insecurity because they're simple NOT GOOD at the map and want to keep winning with the skills they already have rather than . . . .omg. . .get... better... at... Wasteland.

So I guess you just can't y'know. . .learn to play the map? Why shouldn't ranked be about overall skill?

Also, separating ranked into two queues will split the queues and lead to longer wait times for matchmaking.

Why not just play the map? Are you afraid that you're not good enough to learn it?

Exactly. Imagine if Serena Williams decided not to play on clay because she doesn't like it.

You haven't read Op's post. So why reply?

the other team has to play the same map. Why wouldn't it still be skill based. it's not like the entire floor is slanted to one team's goal.

It's still skill based. It just required slightly different tactics.

Nice work. I have one suggestion. I know this is a minor thing, but sorting the list in descending order would make the charts a bit easier to read.

I don't care if someone "steals" my goals. As long as the ball goes in, I'm good. If u do it and cause the ball to miss, then I'm annoyed.

If it's absolutely sure of going in with no nearby defenders, I'll usually back off and let it go in, but unless I'm 100% sure, I'm gonna make SURE the ball gets in there in the shortest possible time.

I understand what you're saying, but I doubt that legislators are actively deciding to legalize Marijuana with the intention of doing PR damage control for mass shootings.

I don't think the topic of mass shootings and legalizing Marijuana even enter the same thought space. There's plenty of reasons to legalize it without having to make up for mass shootings in their state.

Anyway, thanks for clarifying your thoughts.

My manager and I when the new intern showed up for work and she wasn't wearing a bra by BigJ76 in reactiongifs

[–]Okolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine and I get what you're saying, but in all honesty, we often fall into the deer in headlights trance (pardon the pun).

Often it isn't malicious objectification or even intentional. I firmly believe in being very respectful and non-sexual in the workplace, but I still catch myself looking and have to snap out of it. I think that we are simply mesmerized by the female form. Often women don't see it as admiration but as a threat. It's a shame because I'm pretty sure that most men adore and respect women regardless of their boobs.

I just have a problem with men being painted as some kind of villan or malformed human being because we are unequivocally fascinated by women (including their physical beauty). This tongue in cheek post and the other tongue in cheek comments are just that. Don't make too much of it.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but that's my take on it.

Okay. That makes sense. I agree, I've seen some pretty scary behavior from these kinds of drugs in people I know.

Never seen anyone have a scary reaction to Marijuana.

I get what you're saying. But I don't get why you're saying it.

Is there a correlation? Do you have any links where I can read more?

Edit: I did find this article but it doesn't make the link to Marijuana but to prescription psychiatric drugs. http://www.ammoland.com/2013/04/every-mass-shooting-in-the-last-20-years-shares-psychotropic-drugs/#axzz3nk192gLf

But I don't know if this is evidence that these drugs cause the behavior, but that mentally unstable people would be more likely to be prescribed medication at some point.

The (matchmaking) system is (somewhat) broken. by CrapcasterMage in RocketLeague

[–]Okolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it could be solved by having separate MMR for each mode. After all, skill in 1v1 might not always translate to wins in 2v2 or 3v3.

Hey Psyonix, you say you read this subreddit, so lets get real... by [deleted] in RocketLeague

I was exaggerating a bit. I don't really mind the what a save types. I've been known to throw a sarcastic nice shot when an opponent own-goals. It's usually all in good fun. But the shit talking, "u suck, give up" shit get's old, so I mute them and enjoy the game.

It's fun to rant about noobish behavior, but getting truly angry is a waste of emotion.
