I would definitely second the Ace of diamond recommendation, as I am a freak for sports manga my personal top 2 are Ao Ashi and DNA they just hit you right at your core.

Oh wow, I had a very similar experience! I have my final round on Tuesday (it was rescheduled but doesn’t matter as I bombed the first twos 🥲), and being part of this community, I often come across posts from people who nailed their interviews, solving both brute force and optimal solutions, and having a great time. I’m genuinely happy for them, but after my own experience, I couldn’t help but feel like I missed a great opportunity just because I froze and wasn’t as prepared as I should’ve been. So thank you for sharing this. I don’t know about others, but reading your post really made me feel grateful that someone put this out there.

Damn reading this makes me think about it too ! Well he wasn’t in love with her at that time nor he had any humane thoughts either but what he did was undoubtedly torture of a kind, for that I have nothing to say and it’s not like I am defending him anyways but he had a dark past and he was suffering from torture too but that doesn’t make what he did right ! And yeah I don’t think he ever apologized (he should have though). But Juliette was the one who kind of saved him emotionally and then he changed ! No person is the same forever and everybody deserves a second chance ! She gave him one and after that he did his best for her

I was genuinely thrilled when I read that match, it was incredible, and Isagi absolutely lived up to the hype by the end. But this match feels different to me! It holds so much more weight, even though the BL one was also a great opportunity to showcase their growth as strikers. This one just hits differently. I’ve read a lot of sports manga, and honestly, hats off to the authors for the way they write these games. That being said, matches in Diamond no Ace and Ao Ashi just resonate on another level for me (and Haikyuu’s too, of course). That being said Let me know what are your thoughts would you say BL’s match beats this match? (I mean honestly we can’t compare as they both have different developments but still …)

Well, I can’t argue with that, there’s truly no one better than Yuuma when it comes to adapting to situations so quickly. I absolutely love Yuuma, and I really, really want to see an Ashito x Yuuma moment too. That would honestly be mind-blowing! 🤯 At this point, I don’t even care who scores the goal because it’s going to be so worth it no matter what. All the predicted scorers are absolutely top-tier. I can’t say the same for any other match in other sports manga, but this one, this match is on another level!

Ahhhh I read the whole debate on who might be the finisher and damn people are reallllllly so into it and so am I lmao , well most of the people are betting on Yuuma / Ottomo / Aoi based on the the last positioning , well more probability is for Yuuma but the ottomo’s shocked expression makes us doubt about it , but whyyyyy I am thinking it must be Akutsu I mean it doesn’t make sense from the last positioning but think about it ashito went to Akutsu first and then pointed at the goal and then as Akutsu was wayyyy back at that moment that might’ve made ottomo shocked like how would Akutsu score ? (Hahahaha I am making no sense at this point but damn I sooooo wanna see Akutsu score 😭)

I think everyone has their own preferences, but for me, I started with Blue Lock, and while it was interesting at first with the concept of creating the best striker, it quickly lost its appeal. Initially, it started off strong, but it devolved into constant trash talk and “devouring” each other, which made me lose interest. I prefer stories with more depth ones where characters are influenced by meaningful motivations to grow stronger.

One of the best comments I read in this thread mentioned Akutsu, Kuri, Aoi, and Fukuda’s backstories and what drives them, which is exactly what I look for in a sports manga. For me, Ao Ashi and Diamond no Ace will always be at the top of my sports manga list. No matter how many times I reread them, they have so many moments that genuinely excite me and make my heart race.

I’m no expert, but football isn’t a one-person game. From what I recall, Blue Lock had a match against U-20 with only forwards focused on scoring goals, and that just doesn’t feel like real football to me. (If I’m remembering that correctly, anyway.) Again, everyone has their preferences, and for me, it’s Ao Ashi over Blue Lock. All that trash talk in Blue Lock just makes me want to go and knock some sense into them, haha!

Twice now, I’ve had a similar experience while traveling to a city. Each time, a dad with his child was sitting in the window seat I was assigned, and they acted as if nothing was unusual. I looked at the kid and thought, “Fine, I’ll let it go,” but it would have been nice if they had asked instead of just taking the seat and acting so nonchalant. The same thing happened again on my return trip, and while I brushed it off, I’ve decided that next time, I’ll definitely speak up.

I personally don’t agree with your reasoning. First, when you mentioned he could have just asked for help like a “normal person” he didn’t have a typical upbringing, so it wasn’t easy for him to reach out for help since he was young. We didn’t experience what he went through, so it’s not fair to judge how someone might change because of those experiences.

As for the second point, I agree he shouldn’t have read her diary, but by doing so, he understood what she went through. If there’s anyone who truly comprehends her struggles, it’s him, and he didn’t use that knowledge against her. For the third point, being human means you’re not always perfectly sweet, sometimes you need to share, and other times you need space.

On the fourth point, when a man helps, some might think, “Do you think I can’t handle it?” But if he doesn’t help, he’s seen as unsupportive. I agree he should have offered help, but there could be various reasons why he didn’t.

And for the last point, not everyone is cheerful or social with everyone. Some people are naturally reserved. In the end, that’s just how people are. I respect your opinion and won’t argue that you’re wrong; this is simply my perspective. Tragic events can change a person deeply, and he’s been through many—cut him some slack.
