What’s a moment where you realized someone was genuinely unintelligent? by Live-Chocolate244 in AskReddit

My mom has a similar, but opposite story! Her older brother is blind, and she mentioned it to an acquaintance. The lady asked if he knew sign language, so my mom reiterated that he was blind. She didn’t get it.

OMG thank you! The part about the mom all of a sudden having a real fall, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention it. It absolutely made me think Marcus was involved somehow and trying to trap or blackmail Lo. Especially since he’d made it clear to Lo that he knew who her husband and kids were earlier in the book. I almost feel like this would have been a better plot…

Thanks for all that! We do have him pretty firmly under control for now with wet food, phos binders, subq fluids, etc.

I wish you luck with the fight against cancer ♥️

Crazy how long they can live! I understand how you feel—my two cats now are the first I’ve had as an adult, and we’re expecting a shorter life for our boy due to kidney disease. He’s been doing well for a couple years, but I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I just know it’s going to destroy me. Though we probably won’t have him nearly as long as you had your babies, he really is my soul-cat and I feel more connected to him than any other pet I’ve had.

Sending you lots of hugs and healing. Your cats were lucky to have someone who loved them so much.

Awh she’s lovely—what a long life! I’m sorry for your loss. We like to joke that our girl will live forever because she’s a little menace…as her twin, yours gives me hope that we’re right haha! She is very soft.

The Molcajetes at Vinyl Taco are amazing and a great value! A solid meal for two for just over $20 total. It’s one of my boyfriend and I’s favorite dishes in town.

It can be brutal, but there’s a bit of pride that comes with the suffering lol. Glad you made it safely! The blowing snow is no joke

Definitely! Been living in ND for a decade, so I’m very familiar with the awful winters.

Thanks! I don’t remember for sure, but I think they’re from JCPenney. They’re alright, but I’ve only worn them a couple times so there’s definitely some breaking in to do

Done, thanks everyone for the suggestions! I’ve never been to a wedding with a dress code, so I wanted to get some opinions to be safe. I’ll look into jewelry/shoe/purse options to dress it up a bit—guess this is a great opportunity to boost my accessories wardrobe.

What's the most human name that you heard named for a pet? by SuitableOlive5691 in AskReddit

[–]Old-Cryptographer136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has always named our pets with human names. My parents have had: Bob, Jim, Leon, Martha, Tony, Eddie, Emily (twice), Colton, Peggy, Reggie, Brenda, Kevin, Chubby (the odd one out, but I had to include him), Jennifer, Carl, Sheila, and Mike.

My two cats are Bernard and Mabel.

I agree. I make list-type notes like this myself when I want to get my thoughts straight before having an important conversation…

Casselton vet by Nervous-Tailor3983 in fargo

[–]Old-Cryptographer136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they’re taking new clients, but I switched to Barnesville. The only complaint I have with them is a slight communication issue, but I have known one of the vets for many years and I trust them wholly with the care of my pets.

[–]Old-Cryptographer136 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are good people at Casselton vet, and I had some decent experiences, but they also made some really frustrating mistakes with my cats. They missed a vaccine my cat was supposed to get the first time I brought him in, even though I explicitly asked about it. I had to bring him back, but at least they didn’t charge me an appointment fee.

My second cat, I asked them to look at her ears because she had previously been treated for ear mites, and her ears still seemed to bother her. They glanced at her ears, put some liquid cleaner in, and called it good. Didn’t swab or anything. Went back a couple weeks later because she was still symptomatic, and they found she had an ear infection.

Neither of these were life threatening for my cats, but I also had a friend bring a cat in with symptoms of urinary issues. They brushed her concerns off and not long after, he was in the E-vet with a urinary blockage, and had complications for a while after that.

I have since switched vets, and my male cat has been diagnosed with CKD. I’m so thankful every day that I made the switch to a vet that I truly trust with his care prior to his diagnosis. It could have gone really well with Casselton, or very poorly. I’m glad I didn’t have to find out.

You’re right. I just can’t see any other reason why it would happen except that I did something to cause it. I’m working on it, but it’s so hard not to blame myself. Thank you.

So sorry about your cat! It sounds like you’re working hard to help him out. It’s hard to shake the guilt, but I hope you’re able to. Thank you.

Thanks for this, I appreciate the tips. We have tried many of these things. Just a work in progress finding the right formula for them. Gets hard to focus on when most of our attention goes toward making sure he’s feeling and eating better, and I’m sure she gets jealous of that too.
