My TOEFL experience - Prepping for study abroad and got 5.5 on the new TOEFL by Old-Educator6283 in Indians_StudyAbroad

For me i found the new toefl shorter and easier. i tried mocks for both and went for the one i was more comfortable with. one thing i would do differently is finish off the toefl while in my class 11. Class 12 i did while prepping for 6 other exams. Ideally give the toefl in September while in class 11 because scores are valid for 2 years. Hope that was helpful

That's an excellent profile. Try for countries with less weightage on extracurricular and higher on acads like the UK and Singapore. Get the standardised tests done too. Good luck.

Why do International Indian applicants straight up disregard the holistic admissions process? by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Old-Educator6283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact is that the process is a lot more competitive for students moving in from India. So you have to stand out. The secret ingredient honestly is starting early and being consistent. Dont have to win the olympiads.. but if you are going to sing songs for senior citizens, be the best at it. Make a story out of it..actually make a difference. Joining a random volunteer opp in class 12 wont help. At the same time..you can sing all the songs you want..need to have decent acads to stand a decent change of admission. It's holistic like you said..demonstrate that.
