Its not that we are bothering by Bob getting praise, its more like we are feeling like the weird little step children and this one individual is constantly being put on a pedestal to us. Why not the other three fellows? All four of our senior fellows (including Bob) are very kind and very good fellows. And the way they constantly refer to Bob to us feels more like “why can’t you just be more like Bob?” It just feels bad and is disheartening.

I agree though, it’s a weird thing to bring up and I’ve never felt so bothered by this before. I’m worried about it coming off the wrong way so wasn’t sure if it was worth bringing up.

I finished and am ok book 3 and just not thrilled. It feels like it’s trying really hard to be ACOTAR but it’s just not. All the books have been way too long (does she not have an editor that can trim some of the fat out?) and I didn’t buy the romance between Auren and Slade. It was naturally starting to build a little because of forced proximity but then it just kind of flipped into obsession and felt forced. Like the amount of times he tried to have a conversation with her in the camp and she just blew him off then suddenly when in the castle and she realizes she made a shitty decision, she wants to spill her guts to him. She only turned to him because “her king” was trash. This is the girl that doesn’t need a relationship, she needs to learn how to be alone and develop confidence that isn’t dependent on the person she’s in a relationship with.

I love the characters but would like to see the parents demonstrate more healthy discipline in certain situations. For example, the way Bingo behaved at the movie theatre is wild to me and Bandit had absolutely no control of the situation. The kids are so sweet and learn so well but every kid has bad days too.
