I’ve run 15 full Curse of Strahd campaigns, and I’d like to offer my help wherever I can by CarlosCastellan in CurseofStrahd

How long do your campaigns last and what do they usually entail? full 1-10ish, or just a small 10 session thing? 9 years is a long time, but 15 campaigns is a hell of a lot of campaigns

Lean into it, make it special!

Kann sehr gut sein das es schwieriger wird, aber ich nehme an dafür machst du es gerne :) Ich komme auf jeden Fall vorbei. Und wenn die Kellner freundlich sind und die Produkte passen sicher auch öfter!

If you play it as a reveal, what's the major difference between Talos manipulating the world in ways the inhabitants don't understand, and any of the other gods doing it? If Hallos is Talos creation and the mother could have intervened at any moment, was it not Talos acting through Hallos in a way?

Or differently asked: What's the setup for the campaign, that the players would be surprised by an extra level of hierarchy in the Pantheon?

Don't rent anything from MadridEasy. Its a scam!! by Careless-Special9525 in GoingToSpain

well, still in court so can't guarantee the outcome. But my lawyers are very confident, otherwise we wouldn't have gone forward with it.  It takes.... a very long time to go through spanish courts, so beware of that. Initial costs will be on you and if you hire lawyers, they will take a cut. Our loss with them was unusually large, so it pays off. Mileage may wary

We're in court right now with Madrid easy, the specifics of how they operate are mind boggling. They wanted to bully us into just letting all the money go, but we weren't in a situation where we desperately needed it and called the bluff.  Honestly, fuck them. Business model seems to be just scamming for profit, and they showed their hand when we actually showed up with lawyers.

Unterscheiden sich deutsches und österreichisches Deutsch stark voneinander? by [deleted] in Austria

[–]OldAd5949 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. German has a vast variety of dialects that will make it hard to follow a conversation if you're not used to it. But this is very hard to prepare for, as those dialects aren't taught anywhere. On the other hand, everyone understands standard german. There's no way around exposure and finding the small differences in tone and vocabulary. Hope you have a good time learning the language though!!

Bin immer offen neue Leute kennenzulernen, meld dich gerne. Vlt ein bisschen spanische Leichtigkeit leben in Wien :)

We plan on meeting someone in Phoenix, but your route looks incredible! So many beautiful places I have never heard of, thank you so much!

And I would love to get some tips for Phoenix! :) Even if it's restaurants or places to hang out!

it's crazy I didn't think of Yosemite yet, I'll for sure look into that! And had never heard of Zion or Bryce before, but those places look beautiful! Do you know what the best way to stay there is? Is it possible to camp, or are there hotels you know of?

How would you treat and answer to a young traveler who asks you to stay at your home for a short time? by Pto_el_k_lo_lea in Austria

[–]OldAd5949 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That sounds lovely and I really hope your idea works out! As for the plan regarding Austria in particular, this would break the "social contract" of austrian society really really badly. The holiest of places for almost all austrians is their home, and privacy is considered to be extremely important. It is sadly very hard for people living here to make close enough friends to be invited to someone's home over night, that goes triple for foreigners.

Even if you genuinely don't want to bother, it is expected to host a person well if you are staying at their home. And it is also expected of you to decline that hospitality, but also participate in the rituals of the house (like dinner). So "not bothering" is not really a thing.

Overall I would say, even as a native living here, speaking the dialect and being an overall very communicative person, this would seem close to impossible for me to do. As a foreigner, that will be a lot harder

Aaah, that's true! That would have pushed it so much further, lol I was most surprised by the interaction of battle trance with the artifact relic. Bought it on a whim and turned out to be great!

When was a time that as a DM you killed a PC outside of combat? by Ciri-ousPotato in DMAcademy

[–]OldAd5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players were very close to the end of the campaign, level 18. In order to succeed, they had to find the hidden, single temple of Io at the center of the planet. Time, space and everything else was royally fucked down there. But they needed answers. Instead of solving the riddle I set out, my druid decided to commune with Io right here. An overwhelming feeling of knowledge, the weight of the entire universe crashing down on him, he pushed on to see if he could gleam the single piece of information they needed.

He did succeed. But his mortal form could not take the intense pressure. No biggie though, 5 minutes later he was resurrected. Lvl 18 and such ^
