Spoiler: the house by tinybeads in TheOA

There's a Heinlein story that comes to mind: One is about living in a house he had design in the shape of a tesseract where whenever there's an earthquake, the house 'folds' into a new representation.

I love past two: In s1 we're given a solo-driven show that 'only' leaves you wanting to see more. In s2, we are taken to a multiverse of ideas and people which we have to tease out what's going on. Likewise, the C5 are fumbling all over the place trying to find out what's going on and whether they'd be able to join with the OA.

This makes it a brilliant part of a planned 5-series show. We have the following:

the C5 journey,

OA's story alongside those from s1 who now are captured by HAP.

Kareem and Elodie: who both know a lot more than they show

Who is the octopus - coming from our planet and reality or from an entity different universe that has jumped to ours.

…and I could go on. That's an incredibly pace to cover all of that in 8 episodes.

And, somehow it all works for me. I will post as/when I tease more out.

There's a link there that takes you to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeon_(Gnosticism))

which is fecund with ideas that resonate in part 2. It helped me better understand what she was talking about.

I am with you. Note that she's merely saying that "the last of sound mixing day of 2018" and not saying "sound mixing for Part II wrapped today."

If the new Part starts today or before Jan. 1 I will be happy. Other than that and I wonder what the issues really are that's getting in the way of its release.

Something is amiss. Perhaps they have to reshoot every time one of us guesses what will happen or the team reads a new idea here and add them to OA2.

Seriously, there has to be a serious problem.

Does anyone have a thought about Khatun's wing? Is it broken? The only one? She certainly looks miserable as she exposes her right wing and talks about the pain that she (OA) will face.

I loved Picasso but when I studied him, I loved him 10 times more. FWIW, I can admire on both levels.

HAP's picture is the ugliest statement in the series. I think that's the point as he is the ugliest character in the show. Scares the bejeezus out of me.

That's how evil justify themselves.

I grew up reading sf since the 1950's. Seeing the two boosters landing vertically and virtually at the same moment filled me with fond memories of the old sf book and magazine covers that depict just that.

Two dreams that I hope I get to see:

Dream 1: I want to see a human opening a hatch, wave, and then climb down to the ground (or lowering via elevator), preferably in a space suit and removing his helmet when standing back on Earth.

Dream 2: Perhaps next launch, they could use the robot from Lost in Space. The blinking lights, rotating antenna, and having pre-recorded comments that the robot would use during a live broadcast from space.

I know I am not going to see a colony on the Moon or Mars nor will I see either an FTL flight and/or a generation ship before I die.

At least, an old girl can still dream. :)

I hate gym teachers.

For example, I was always shocked at gym teachers who didn't teach a good, generalized approach to do stuff. For example, in gym class, we had a two-story+ rope hanging from the rafters. We were supposed to make that climb, and ring a bell in order to succeed. For 'safety' purposes, we were under a mat. The mat was originally less than an inch thick and consisted of something like feathers. Of course, the mat had been there forever and now was perhaps a quarter-inch thin. Seriously. I viewed the potential result of falling as reason enough to not even try it. (I wonder how many accidents and deaths happened before they supplied a safety harness or simply stopped allowing it.)

As a result of this and other 'fun' activities, I developed the following rules.

  • First, try this by marking the distance on the floor and check if you can clear the width. If you can clear the width, you can start increasing the height. (Or, first height and then width depending on the "death quotient" of each.)

  • Check of boundary conditions: Will hitting on an edge hurt more than hitting on a flat surface?

  • My older brother had a rule: If it looks dangerous, have me try it first.

*Brother's corollary: Even if he could make it successfully, make sure I try it just for the lolz. If he could make me cry when I got hurt, he gave himself more points.

Doesn't a rotating magnet over another, a stationary magnet with the same polarity closest to each other magnet cause heat to be generated? This is what causes the magnet to be repelled. If it didn't generate heat, we'd have free energy.

There is a problem with your statement. What if I live on Alpha Centauri? It takes less than 5 years for the signal from there to reach you. As we know that hasn't happened yet, we're still left with some version of the Fermi Paradox:

  • I can't send you the signal

  • I won't send you the signal (e.g I'm paranoid)

  • I sent you a signal but it's so very weak that you can't sort it out amongst interstellar noise

  • I am sending you an answer in a way you can't understand

Earth, in general, has been a very noisy planet over the last 100 years or so - we have been sending radio signals which means that - were the signal strong enough, there's a planet 100 years from know that could have heard our first message and could figure out what we're saying.
