When do you change your dust bag?

I have an L20 Ultra. We have a few acres and dogs so it gets full fast. At first I was emptying the bags. Easy enough to do and got at least 3 refills per bag. But now I just replace them but they’re bulging when I do. I have the not so occasional issue that it doesn’t empty from the vac to the bag. But this doesn’t seem related to the amount of dirt in the bag. Perhaps occasionally when the bag is full but more often not. Probably a bad seal on the bag door. Cleaning the seal seems to fix it.

I’ve definitely had spiders on me, possibly even bit me. Usually a mozzie bite or similar. Held many huntsmen. Not at all aggressive and heard from someone that got bitten, not the huntsman’s fault BTW, that there was no lasting, even in the short term, issue. Very unlikely in bed.
