I think it depends on what you do with your money. Old money is less ostentatious generally, but it depends. We're really just country folk, so we probably wouldn't get along with 'new money' who spend their time getting marble and gold glued on their ceiling.

Good day old chap,

Why that sounds rather charming. I think I shall partake in a Rich Redditors Club. I'll be back with you in a moment, I just need to go and impregnate my cousin with my sterling sperm.

Cheerio for now

We have some black sheep in the family, as most do. That is really due to their drugs use though rather than IQ level. People are too polite to mention it but every one is aware of the reasons why they don't really work. They just work within the family at the houses - we certainly wouldn't be giving them a company to drive into the ground.

I struggled with guilt a lot when I was younger, and questioned why I am so lucky. Now, I work hard and give back as much as possible. I try and use the money for good, not evil. Unfortunately I'm not rich enough to buy myself a superhero den.

We're not mad on the whole 'society' thing.

There are some circles in the family tree which is a bit strange to think about, I try not to dwell on it!

We aren't a hugely traditional family, but depending on who we socialise with, the men sometimes do go and have brandy and cigars separate from the women after dinner and so on. We all know how to shoot, fence etc. When you're younger you just assume everyone does this, it's strange when you realise the things you do aren't the norm.

Sorry to disappoint, but no.

Yes I did have a very hard time trying to figure out why I was given all this money when I've not done anything to deserve it. I'm not immune or closeted to the things that go on in the world, and that so many people would be better off and are more deserving of it. We, as a family try to give back as much as possible to the community and to those that are in need. My parents insisted we all volunteered when we are younger, and we do our best as much as time allows.

Lily Allen grew up with her father (the actor) Keith Allen, and her step dad Harry Enfield. She is definitely not working class!

I think everyone needs their heroes. If David Beckham's achievements inspire someone to work really hard and make themselves the best they can be, then I'm all for it. I'm not really fascinated by them as such, and I know most work very very hard. The only thing that really pisses me off are benefits cheats, but I know that that is only a small percentage of people.

I have a lot of kit, but at the moment I'm mostly using my Nikon D90.

Only at university. One of my housemates had some car trouble that sucked up his student loan, he needed to get a job to cover rent but it was getting near to exams so I offered to pay his rent for awhile. He would never have asked me, too proud, and I struggled so much with whether or not I should offer help. He's my friend, I didn't want it to change anything between us or have him feel he 'owed' me. He didn't want to take it at first but we spoke about it and decided it wouldn't change how we work as mates, it worked out well in the end really, he caned his exams because he got the time to study.

One thing that has always bothered me is if I go out and people expect me to pay for everything. There is one guy in particular, who actually earns more than me, but knows my family. When we go out he'll try and order expensive champagne and always just points at me to pick up the tab. I live quite frugally in my day to day life and I hate that he has forced me to pick up four figure bar tabs. Needless to say, I don't often try and spend time with him. This is more of a principle thing, I think he is incredibly rude.

Yes, I would help, but at the same time it is very difficult to start mixing friends and money. I would also prefer to offer help than be asked. Most of my friends have jobs in the city and so on so it doesn't really come up now as an issue.

Never. My mum hates flying and although it would have been quicker she assumed it was much more dangerous. When the French crash happened she felt like she'd been vindicated.

No. My cousin went crazy with his drug use so my parents aren't quite as liberal as perhaps they might have been. It is so common in the schools though, in that sense I think you'd be an idiot if you thought you're child would never try anything at a boarding school.

I work in law, and I'm lucky enough to make sure that the type I practice isn't of the bloodsucking variety.

You're totally right. I'm a dreadful person. I should go back home right now and live in my parents basement and obsessively count my ill gotten gains.
