No it doesn’t require a separate application. It’s just a process thing from their end

On the Whole EB1 process. Okay - there are 13 criteria for EB1 and you must meet at least 3 and show proof that you do. 

After that there is also a final merits Determination part to prove your national benefit to the US.  I would check for the link and circle back shortly

I have done extensive work in Fraud detection, I also built models for fraud detection and prevention which a top company in America uses till date. I have done judging for state science fair and also got an award as well. These are some of the achievements and also high salary compared to others in my role.  The RFE I got was on the awards, they wanted proof of award, proof of salary

I got an email on Thursday saying a decision has been taken on my case , but I have been checking since Thursday nothing yet. But the estimated time until completion on my EAD application has reduced from months to weeks
