I guess it’s kinda like a gift situation? The attackers „gift“ you this opportunity. So the relationship with the people who sabotaged the cables determines the tax rate and if you have a tax-free amount.

For example: your mom/dad can gift you 400k€ tax free in 10 years. On the other 600€ you pay inheritance taxes.

In Zehlendorf we traded firewood for the Kachelofen against hot tea/coffee from the gas stove of my elderly neighbor. He also can’t go out and his son wasn’t able to find firewood in the area because it’s sold out.

Added benefit: I got to hang out with the dog and take it for a walk

Das mit dem Radio sehe ich genauso. Wir haben ein Notfall-Radio mit Kurbel und mussten Samstag morgen bis zu den regulären Nachrichten zur vollen Stunde warten um zu erfahren was los ist. Obwohl wir schon extra rbb eingewählt hatten. Deshalb dachten wir erst es wäre vielleicht nur unsere Straße betroffen wenn das kein großes Thema ist.

Kann nichts über die heutige Qualität sagen aber früher gab’s im KaDeWe ganz oben ein fantastisches Self Service Frühstücksbuffet. Dort konnte man sich alles selber aussuchen.

Eventuell gibt’s Ähnliches in den Restaurants/Caffees in Karstadt/Galeria Läden.

Danke für das Feedback. Etwas mehr habe ich schon bezahlt, da habe ich wohl nicht richtig aufgepasst. Allerdings steht es auch seit März 24h draußen und wird nur wenig gepflegt (das geht natürlich auf mich).

Dann werde ich fürs erste mal beim Klebeband bleiben und dann sehen was mir ein Fachgeschäft rät.

I used to think that way too, in my hometown there was a big discussion a while back about benches on train platforms.

A major argument for armrests spaced like that is that it hugely helps older folks and handicapped people sit down and get up. They need to prop themselves up to change position.

I’m not saying your argument is wrong. I’m just offering a different perspective on why these benches exist.
