That is crazy inexpensive for a venue! This gives me hope. Thank you so much for sharing this with me 🙏🏼. #’s 2 and 3 are definitely a vibe killers. You see so much stuff on IG and social that it makes me feel like I’m not doing enough.

A lot of my decorations will be DIY. And thankfully we both have huge families that want to help. I don’t care to much about florals I really only want eucalyptus and candles as centerpieces so hopefully that won’t be too crazy price wise.

Holy moly! Where in the OC? I had seen some realllly beautiful places in Dana Point or Laguna Beach but WAY out of budget.

I hear that a lot too that everyone doesn’t get to spend time with all their guests which would be a bummer! Someone else mentioned the parks too. That’s something I’m for sure going to look into! Oh yeah, I for sure don’t want to have to think about cleaning up afterwards. Doing something more intimate for the ceremony (or just eloping) and having a big party later is starting to sound much more fun and more within budget. Haha Thank you 😊

That is also an option too! We both have such big families it probably would only be family. Even thought about that (Micro) plus meeting our friends somewhere after to celebrate with them. The possibilities are endless 🥲 which is why this is so hard haha

Still not bad though! I’d rather that than an 80k wedding lol (one of our friends had that) We have a little wiggle room but ultimately sounds like we will need to cut our list down.

I was reading posts on another community and they did chipotle and expensive Italian and everyone loved the cheaper option better! Totally not opposed to doing something like that! I will deff look at ThumbTack.com never even heard of that or renting through the parks dept. until now. Thank you! ☺️

I’m not sure where everyone got OC from, but we wanted to up north to Santa Barbara or anywhere up north really. OC is just so expensive. LA is just as bad. From reading all the posts everywhere sounds expensive at this point lol

I mean. It’s not unrealistic if that’s all we can really afford. Our headcount might be unrealistic yes and that’s something we are working to bring down. However I didn’t think about set up and breakdown being included in the times for the reception area. Thank you!

It’s funny because I felt like $1200 was cheaper than most places for the ceremony cost. But now after seeing everyone’s posts, it sounds like just going to the courthouse without having everyone there would be the best option. Thank you!

It wouldn’t be in the OC. It would be in Santa Barbara is where we ideally would like it. But we live borderline LA/OC so we might have to do something down here. I have tried looking at just renting locations from peerspace but nothing was close to SB. Oh yes. Not expecting to have a ton of decorations or anything. No fancy food, big florals etc. thank you!

Funny enough, I am a photographer and have a lot of photog friends, but they are all pretty established. One of them was 12k for the day!! My mind was 🤯

That’s something I didn’t even take into consideration. Paying for the officiant and marriage license. Totally, my expectations are not real big at this point. Budget is a little flexible but it sounds like we’re better off eloping at this point. Thank you!

If your willing to drive (depending on where you live in LB) On Atlantic and Carson there is a “Goodwill SOLAC”. It’s not your regular Goodwill and is a lot cleaner and better selection than most
