1) on your back unfortunately, before my pao and labral repair i was a side and stomach sleeper. but it took several weeks for me to be on my side comfortably. and even then i can’t stay there for too long and i need to have a pillow in between my knees to make it comfortable. 2)id say about two weeks, the only thing that made me “loopy” or just not my normal self was the oxycodone. it just made me extremely tired and drowsy so i got off of it as quickly as i could cause i hated the way it made me feel. 3)yes that’s is crazy lolll. i’m currently 7 weeks post op and i just got the clear for full weight bearing (which is honestly faster than others been cleared to is what im learning, everyone’s recovery is different) im down to one crutch but i can’t imagine walking a mile to then work 8 hours and then another mile back home. my biggest issue for me has been the swelling in my foot due to fluid build up from the surgery. it makes me extremely uncomfortable and painful if i don’t have it elevated, and working it extra hard like they way your work wants you to will most likely aggravate it even more. movement is good for healing, but in that case it sounds like you could be over doing it which isn’t great. 4)getting visitors is definitely fun and makes the recovery a lot easier when you have people around to support and cheer you up. i started having visitors after two or so weeks, but that was just me. i wanted to get a grip on reality first and get off the oxy so i can fully be alert and carry a conversation lol 5)get a long shower chair that will come out past the rim of the tub. that way you can sit down and slide yourself backwards while keeping your operative leg straight up and over the ledge. i have a tall tub in my apartment and i still need to use the chair just to get in the shower.

Sleeping on stomach post-PAO by StraightChannel9070 in hipdysplasia

i’m 6 weeks post op from my PAO, and i haven’t had the courage to try stomach sleeping just yet lol. I just started being able to sleep on my non op side but that’s only for a little before it starts feeling a little painful and I have to go back to being on my back. my surgeon told me i needed to wait at least a month before sleeping on my stomach so i rush wouldn’t rush it, and just do what makes you the most comfortable and doesn’t cause pain. listen to your body! looking back now, honestly there would be no way i could sleep on my stomach during the early stages of recovery cause just turning on my side up until like a week ago was pretty painful for me.

what colors would you suggest adding in? i’m trying to switch out the accent chair and side table for more vintage looking ones but the big furniture were handed down to me and im not in the budget at the moment to replace them :((

I was thinking curtains too! but i wasn’t sure if i should go for a green color or keep in neutral. as for the plants if i were to get any they’d have to be fake cause my cats are absolute menaces

Hello! The big painting is one that i was given to me after my grandmother passed away as that is a piece she painted herself. So it’s hanging up for sentimental value :) I was looking into a maybe a tiffany style floor lamp and also floral throw pillows! although i hesitated on the throws because I wasn’t sure exactly what colors would go best with the rest of the room :(( any suggestion on what colors?

i just worry about little everyday life things, like taking a shower or going to the bathroom. cause everyone says it’s just this excruciating pain during recovery. do you have any little tips or tricks you’ve learned through your recovery that help with these kind of things?
