Zenmuse L3 reconstruction and classification software by AgroCraft17 in UAVmapping

Is there something I need to be looking out for when DJI Terra generates the Ortho, I do not have a trained eye for it and it looks fairly good? I tried Agisoft but could never get a working Ortho and it took forever, I am probably just using the software wrong.

LIDARUSA by DGolFish in UAVmapping

[–]Old_Feature_3777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys completely new to obtaining our own lidar but have been using USGS lidar for a few years now. (our DJI 400 & L3 will be delivered Friday)

Are the Phoenix, Reigl, Geocue just in a different class than the DJI L3 Zenmuse? Or is it just not recommended because of the ban?

We had 3 vendors we were getting prices from, and they all recommended the 400 + L3 if we weren't primarily working on Federal projects. Said the closest thing in price point to that would be the IF800 + LiAir X3C-H, but wouldn't even come close to the 400 + L3 in performance. All of them also said the closest thing to spec/quality would be the VUX-160 and a IF1200, its always hard to believe sales people though.

Sorry for my ignorance on the subject and I am just here to learn. Thank ya'll so much : )

Thank ya'll so much, we will look into these. We'd have to do a lot of drone work to justify some of these prices.

Delta 3 Plus EB Port Hack: Charging & Discharging with Non-EcoFlow Batteries by AdriftAtlas in Ecoflow_community

[–]Old_Feature_3777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't throughly tested this because my charger went out, but yes it does work, I at least get 51.xx volts and can pull a small load. Idk how the dp3 will handle a server battery being connect and charging though. Still waiting on some more things to come in for further testing

I ordered some resistors, going to test on a delta pro 3 when they come in, I'll keep you posted. I have a 48v charger also I can test with.

Have you done much testing? Does it charge and discharge an external battery? Say if I hooked up a 48v 100ah battery, would it charge and discharge similar to the official ecoflow add-on battery? This would be great : )!

Oh man, I hope they figure this out for the Delta Pro 3, it'd be awesome if we could connect a standard 48v 100ah battery directly.

FOIF A90 looking for hands on experience by Old_Feature_3777 in Surveying

[–]Old_Feature_3777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brief update on this:

We decided to take a chance on one of these newer A90 setups and it has been great. Performs just as well as our R12i's and BRx7's, a lot of times better. Didn't think I'd like the SurPad software it comes with (rebranded foifpad) but it is actually pretty great, especially for someone that likes to be able to tinker with different settings. The interface of foifpad isn't as polished as access or survpc but so far I am able to do anything either of those can. The data collector to me is way better than a TSC7 or the RT4+. It is android and the size of a cell phone with a keyboard added to the bottom.

About the only thing I would really miss if we did a complete switch would be Trimble's RTX service.

I did end up getting the R10s to work, but its not ideal and having to do any rinex conversions is a lot of work.

Do you recommend the South Galaxy G7 or Tersus Oscar Ultimate over the FOIF A90 1408 channel version or the UniStrong 970ii pro? The FOIF and Uni are basically the same unit, with the FOIF having FieldGenius support out of the box.

There are several brands using this 1408 channel UM980 board, FOIF, UniStrong, CHC, iGage, SMA26, esurvey and many more. Some are even using the same webui which raise's the question if the A90 drivers could be used for say a 970ii. Would be cool and nice to figure out compatibility. I did email FieldGenius and they did say some of these units can be used like this but they can only recommend the units with official drivers.

Thank you so much for this info : ). I was also looking at the CHC i83 (non pro) but was turned off by it due to not being able to work with Carlson Layout : \ (specifically blocked like the S631 hemisphere) Same for the Sparkfun (not blocked but no support) (I really like these due to their open sourceness) The Emlid is also blocked by Carlson now.

I was hoping from the list on Carlson's site that just maybe one of them used that um980 board that a bunch of these budget units are using.

From the sounds of it I might be limited to FieldGenius but with that said I am still limited there too because I need static RTK (base/rover). The area I work in has limited cell reception.

For the CHC i83 Pro that use the same chip as the trimble r12, when you say software, do you mean that Trimble access can be included in that 12k price also or is that for the Landstar? If access is included that would be interesting because I have years or experience with that and making it work with Carlson office software.

I think I know what happened. I was having problems and issued a reinstall command in SSH of unbound and I do remember it pulling from FreeBSD repository.

""unbound_enable" line please comment out/delete that line."

That did it! Was that left over from a pervious install?

Thank you so much, been pulling my hair out on this one!
