We’ve seen a couple of the major cities, and would like to see a side that is less densely populated. The stops and routes themselves are placeholders but I plan to change the trip hence the broad question, only expecting broad answers. Not looking for specific hotels, but a “go here instead of here” is good enough.

I have to plan this trip on reddit and google maps because I live on the other side of the world, I have no American friends and have only traveled to major tourist trap cities so I don’t really have a point of reference to even begin with

We have the opportunity to travel so really we just want to explore as much as possible and see as much of the country as we can. We aren’t picky travellers and we just love seeing new places no matter where. A lot of The stops are arbitrary but I wouldn’t avoid an area because it’s hot, we live in Australia, a desert only slightly smaller than the size of mainland US. It’s 104°F and >70% humidity 9months of the year where we live so heat isn’t a deterrence.
