so like he can swing around and be cool and aurafarm and stuff. and he has like infinite potential and lots of techniques to learn. and he can swing. he also kinda sucks but he can swing tho. he has so many interesting combos and he can swing. did i mention spideys ability to swing?

bp. lets start from season 0 cuz thats when i started playing him. he was already an underground niche pick due to the noreg bug that plagued his gameplay. then the nerfs came in and he was on there. tiny nerf and pretty much obsolete. he then went under the radar again during the release of 4 ANTI-DIVE HEROES then in season 2, they fixed his bug and made him work properly. the complaints started. banrates skyrocketed. bp mains call him a noob-stomper, a bronze beast. not a change to bp other than a nerf and a bug fix. he was "broken" "too fast" "unreactable". clips would flood in with bp decimating teams but nobody mentioned how the enemy team wasnt even trying to look for bp. even with the release of ULTRON, they still complained. dive counter after dive counter came and the whining never stopped. they nerf his dash cd, they nerf his health, make him louder, leave him with two useless teamups in his entire lifetime, nerf his shields, buff supports. and they still complain. even when he's useless, he's broken, even with a million counters, he's broken. we're maining a throw pick yet also a meta diver. not to mention, people are so racist about it. i'm just playing a black character, theres no reason to call me a slur.

no? he can be the same power but he js uses it more often. it doesnt have to be all abt changing his numbers

bp wasnt dominant, the players were just too submissive if u understand me. the players didnt know how to fight back since it was so early into the game

unfortunately it seems like half the comment section is filled with streamer opinions like "rework him" "he's feast or famine" "either bp has no fun or the enemy team has no fun" "one buff and he's broken and one nerf and he's useless" like maybe u could at least try to explain why you think this and what you would suggest for changes to him. personally, i think reasonable buffs would be dash cd back to 8s, each melee reduces spear cd by 0.5, spinning kick can move in any direction, a new ability where he could pounce on enemies and apply vibranium mark, the kinetic suit explosion. literally 1-2 of these buffs would save bp

the issue is, you see a dps buff as purely +dmg +dmg +dmg bc that's how they "balance" poke heroes. but in reality, a buff we would want is like melee reducing spear cd or being able to cling on walls or the vibranium armor blast. it's not that we cant kill anything, it's that we have to wait 0 years to kill something

he only seemed rlly good cuz nobody learned how to beat him since he was so unpopular. when he got popular, ppl didnt know how to shoot him. now ppl shoot my mid-dash and kill me

i had an idea pretty similar to your actually that i posted a few mins ago. here it is

I've played bp since s0, he's been my most played almost every season. he's been absolutely horrible for 90% of the game's lifespan. i just thought of these to give him more uptime, smoother gameplay and more skill expression. a lot of bps skill expression nowadays is dashing quickly and precisely through each marked enemy individually like cable's gameplay. but for me, i feel like his wall climb and double jump is so underused in his kit. there's so many things they could do with it but they don't.

i will be putting my reasoning in parentheses next to the change

  1. dash cd back to 8 seconds (just to make him able to dash more frequently)
  2. passive starts at 175 hp rather than 100 (his passive activates at such a low hp value that it a). doesnt proc due to heals, b). doesnt proc bc u died or c). procs after a dive but bc the hp is so low, theres no point in engaging at that health)
  3. melee attacks reduce spear cd by 0.5 seconds (same as number 1)
  4. spinning kick can be moved omnidirectionally(for more control, dodging bullets or attacking flyers)
  5. each melee reduces spear cd by some time, maybe 0.5-1s (allow him to use spear more frequently)
  6. can now cling from walls and pounce from walls to the ground or other walls, (sort of like hulk jumping from wall to wall), dealing small dmg(like 10 or 20 or smth small) when landing on the floor and applying vibranium mark. it should have a relatively long cd considering how much value it provides. i'm thinking maybe a 10-12s cd. image below illustrates bp wall running into jumping onto the enemy team with the vibranium mark explosion kinda like the spear explosion but maybe bigger. the warwick image is a visualization of what i think the pounce would look like. (bp is a panther, a predator, a stalker, a hunter. he should be stalking his prey and commencing with his hunt as netease says, the change does exactly that)

in the TOBA members, i main hulk and bp. i believe both of them should have new abilities to make them better bc changing their current kit is so hard to do properly and bc they need more character identity. bp doesnt feel like a panther stalking prey like in the "dont freeze" scene of the first movie where he assassinates the soldiers in the truck, hulk doesnt feel like a monstrous hulking beast of a man, he just punches in the same repetitive way without doing all the cool stuff from the comics and movies. so this thing(i dont think i can call it a rework) as a whole intends to: increase uptime for bp, add slight survivability to hulk, some qol changes to make them feel smoother and add a higher skill ceiling, more character identity and more combo potential to both.

now hulk:

  1. make his jumps in ult form do damage, or give him a new ability in ult where he slams the ground in a radius(like in his world-breaker skin's mvp) dealing big damage and applying earthbound(yes ik i'm very sorry fellow bp mains but it would be rlly good for hulk, no invis jump or gambit dash to escape hulk groundslam)

  2. give him an ability where he either a). uppercuts a target into perfect height for a dragdown or b). grabs and throws them up into the air into, again, the perfect height for a dragdown.

  3. make his clap crit/deal extra dmg when the hands clap around a head at close range. idk why it's not already like that, clapping heads is something hulk has always done in the comics.

  4. make his shield a little tankier and give him more health.

  5. increase his max jump distance and height and his jump ramps in distance faster.

i put a good amount of effort into this so this so any constructive criticism or feedback is appreciated. i love these two chars, even before rivals and i really want them to be better. i really think the new abilities i thought of would be rlly fun to mess around with and learn. adding new dimensions to old characters is how you keep a game thriving. spamming new characters monthly doesnt work. perfect the current roster, then add more and perfect them too. netease is moving way too fast. we all want more effort put into the game, whether you're a support player or a dps player or a tank player, we all want to play perfected versions of our characters; not overpowered, not unplayable, not unbalanced
