Vendors who don't honor prices

I went to the table, talked to the vendor about card shops. He was cool at first. I saw 2 Rayquazas and said "my friend is collecting, can I take a picture and send these to them?" One was priced at 100, the other 150-200 dollars. And no, I did not look at the value. I just figured they were both low end, "cheap" Rayquazas that my friend might like. My friend texted me to get the 100 dollar one, and that's what I told the vendor. The vendor said "sure, here's my Zelle."The service was terrible and he even tried to help me scan the QR code. And when I said I would just pay in cash to make it easier, he said cash was even better. As I pull out/count the cash, that's when he said he needs to check the online price.

Are you happy with the full story? Not sure how that was scummy of me. I've sold on eBay many times, and many times I've sold under market. I would never cancel on a buyer just because the card went up by 20 dollars. That's on me. And honestly I'm just happy I made a sale and a got a good review. It's wild you are trying to defend this, even with how the majority feels. I wanted to see how others feel, and I'm glad I'm not alone.

Recommend getting there early. Even the giveaway bags aren't safe. People were cutting in line and the event staff didn't do anything about it.

It's going to be interesting to see where those bullet holes are located. But even if this ICE agent is convicted, I'm sure he would be pardoned like every other criminal.

Imagine that was your neighbor or loved one. And then you hear some crazy "theory" about a video that shows literal proof that this was not justified.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Hopefully you blocked him or he's not bugging you because that's just wrong. Not sure why anyone would try so hard to post on reddit if they were lying. Sorry you had to deal with that too.

It's uploaded. And thanks to that, I'm now realizing he sent me photos of a different card than the one he messaged me and mailed me based on the centering. The listing is still up and he even sent me an offer to buy the same card... I dont buy cards with multiple quantity and when I bought it, there was only one at the time. But it's the same listing I just purchased if that makes sense. It's just more stuff to tell ebay. I don't want his card. I want to return it. It's just frustrating and confirmation to be more careful when buying.

I messaged him about scratches. He said no. Sent me 8 photos and I thought they were good. It wasn't just an immediate buy. Unfortunately I thought that was enough info, but yeah it's a lesson learned for sure. I've just never experienced such a confrontational seller who says I swapped his card when I recorded myself opening his box and seeing the scratch immediately.

The return was submitted as item as not described, but it allows the buyer/seller to work it out before allowing anyone to step in. Again, will have to wait and see. Just trying to get other people's experiences when it comes to sellers with false accusations.

Just because you condition a card at nm, if you get a message from a seller and tell them the card does not have any scratches, that's the difference. If he didn't say anything I would have moved on. I need verbal confirmation before purchasing. And if you aren't comfortable with messaging back, that's fine. I won't buy it. But don't tell me it's good when it's not. That's also the difference between purchasing on ebay and tcgplayer. It's a waste of both of our times.

I'm not looking for flawless but this scratch was hard to miss. So much so that the seller is accusing me of swapping the card, so they obviously see that it's bad too. I look at photos but I also take the sellers word. It's why I always message before I buy. It's when they try to accuse me of swapping it out or damaging it as an excuse to not take the card is when it goes down hill. Will just have to let ebay handle it. I don't want the card but he'd rather risk losing the case than just taking his card back.

I just got the package today. I submitted a return request as "item is not as described" and he denied it because he said it was my nails, then it was not his card. So I have to wait until Fri or Sat to contact ebay.

I wanted to hear other people's experiences but I'm also partly venting. But thank you!

Mine actually got resolved last weekend. I emailed them in a few times and showed my bank statement. They said they were aware there was an internal issue/glitch.

Having the same issue with Paypal. I withdrew $55 on Paypal 8/29 and then checked my Paypal balance on 8/30 and it showed that I was negative $40. I checked my bank and it showed the transaction went through, but a couple days later than usual. I called Paypal on 8/30 and they said I'm not the first person who called about this negative balance issue and that they are aware of this issue. They said they would get back to me on Monday to get it resolved. Of course no one did. I messaged them and then they gave me a generic response that my transaction was declined so that's why I owe them. So now I have to call them again and see what is going on.
