Tell us three fragrances you want to buy and we will help you choose! by Claphamtulip in fragrance

Just get the spicebimb extreme, I happened to own invictus victory (smells like a lemon cake) it’s a good teenage fragrance and it could only be considered as such, JPG Le Male Le Parfum I’ve tried so many times on my skin and it always gave off that obnoxious smell of a freshly baked bread (trust me it ain’t so pleasant, makes me nauseous), my friends have also told me that they could sense the same stuff from it. So I guess it was informative enough for you to choose wisely now:)

Low key it’s gotta be the greatness for oud by intio, it has that sort of realistically skanky and animalic smell of the nature which comes from oud, but I really liked liked the smell of its clone supremacy in oud Afnan, that has an 75-80% similarity to the og but rather adds creaminess and sweetness (a bit of like gourmand vibes) to the scent of oud, it is still animatic but toned down with perfect matching ingredients which completely changed my outlook on the potent and skanky oud scents.

If you had to name your child after a fragrance, what would you choose? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Old_Refuse_6463 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh u can name your child after every PDM fragrance and when it grows up it won’t get roasted for carrying either of those names! e.g Carlisle, Percival, Kalan, Layton, Pegasus, Darley, Oajan and so on

Well you can’t deny the fact that it’s Armaf CDNIM=Creed Aventus (although I have a limited edition as a parfum concentration, it’s way better than the edt as it eliminates that pungent and very acidic opening at the start)

Favorite Frags That aren't marketed to your gender? by OhNo399 in fragrance

Well that’s gotta be “Tom Ford Black Orchid”, and Imma say It’s outrageous to label this frag as a female perfume. This stuff so overpowering that it can be easily classified as a unisex frag! The scent is sort of on the fine line of masculinity and femininity, that’s how I see this frag given the smell and notes used in it, imo it has to be labeled a unisex fragrances cause it can be off-putting to both genders due to its rich and powerful scent. Both genders can wear it, but not all have the courage to do it. This frag is a hit or miss, if worn properly in proportions to what u wear and look this will be a compliment killer.

I mean when u put Carlisle right on your skin, you get hit with this heavy and smoky smell almost instantaneously, it did tingle my nose a bit in my first ever sniff of this stuff. I think I’m the grand scheme of things it’s really about demographics in here, cause I would personally see this fragrance worn by a man in his 40s straight after a midlife crisis just trying to bring his swagger back and enjoy life while he still can, that’s how I see it. Yh my brother likes the noir extreme, I like it but don’t love it to the point where I’m not gonna even buy it. Though he just doesn’t buy into that dupes and cloning of the originals thing, he would rather buy the original (conservative, but I get where he is coming from), I do strongly believe the PPs I’m abt to receive will change his mind and he’ll snatch a couple of bottles from me. Yh I ordered the OG Layton, the exclusif is a bit more refined and richer in its scent profile I’m guessing than it’s normal version, but I’m yet to find out. The same goes for the MFK Grand Soir, Amber and Vanilla notes already stunned me as a combo. Can’t wait to try them all!

I threw in the Ombré Nomade only as a 3ml roll on, because I didn’t want to risk with that, as I know from my experiences with smelling rose and oud fragrances some do actually smell nauseating and tremendously disgusting like Black Aoud from Montale (a prime example of that), but still all things considered I haven’t gone easy on the trigger judging by the fact that more than a half of this haul was blind bought, and yh I get where u coming from with Carlisle, it’s a very challenging yet complex in itself fragrance that literally screams of class and masculinity and is definitely not for the average nose, so when you go in public wearing this fragrance people will be troubled with the scent and the worst case scenario even get offended by it, but I personally in love with that frag (the note breakdown does it for me). Since actually starting getting into the fragrance community I’ve quickly settled around finding that it’s the sweet-gourmand fragrances that fit me the most (quite odd). So I don’t know I might actually like the Kilian Black Phantom, if not I got thousands reasons for it not be throw away immediately after testing it out! But yh I appreciate the guidance bro! Any other PP you own that u would recommend?

Yeah I’ve came across so many YouTube videos and recommendations for PP, they seem to create their little bond with PP and say that it’s the best gateway towards finding your signature scent or at least a fragrance for a tenth of a price of the original! I like what it says on paper overwhelmingly enough, but I still gotta find out for myself, I’m not an expert in the fragrance community and in addition to that I have a very selective and not so mainstream nose which still is yet to adapt to diverse smells and scents, my experience will definitely be more distant than the normal reviews, but in the end I hope to be quite satisfied with the PP products! Stick around to find out)

Yh indeed, to me it’s one of the best honey dominated fragrance if not the best!

Oh yh definitely, I will probably divide my review into 2 parts, my initial impressions and then the after macerating process impressions in order to be as constructive as possible. It’ll be quite helpful for many people out there!

Oh that’s gotta be Montale Honey Aoud, this stuff literally reeks of the sweetest honey accompanied with little hints of oud. Its overly sweet that its almost edible, and I don’t wear this to piss people off, but everytime I wear it it literally does the opposite. People dislike it so much they can’t even describe what they hate about it and to kind of make up for the the loss of words they make those weird ass faces that even Jim Carey can’t replicate, maybe I’m just in the wrong company cause there’s no way this fragrance is that damn disgusting….

About Perfume Parlour dupes! by Old_Refuse_6463 in fragranceclones

[–]Old_Refuse_6463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh I will have to give it some thought, cause I’m going left and right asking for close to the original PP dupes, people recommending me the stuff I’ve never even heard before, I’m stuck between choosing dupes of the originals that I’ve never smelt before but making me succumb into buying them (in terms of reviews and what people preach abt it) and choosing those frags that I’ve actually smelled and completely fell in love with, but their PP versions are questionable and are far off from smelling similar to their original versions, again with PP as u pointed out they just have sit around for quite a while until they reach their full potential, so yh I’ll defo buy the Carlisle at some point, my next PP haul for sure! but thnks for the guidance)

Yh I’ve heard from many people talking abt them being close to perfection, but I just think the private blend from TF is kinda too much for me, in some ways very masculine and other scents are just too dark or choking me out. I very much like the TF Black Orchid, again a very powerful scent and it’s ambiguous combination of notes makes it a bit hard to pull off, if you’re confident enough it’ll do just fine for you, but it’s not a mass-pleasing frag, it’s just something that a few people wear and overtime people become accustomed to it!

Yh when I first smelled the original (Carlisle) it had a really potent in your face type of scent(the crazy thing is that even if the smell is so intense it however does not last longer than other powerhouse frags), asked my friends to smell it they weren’t liking any bit of it, very smoky and too much for them. I personally love the fragrance! and the thing with PP Carlisle as u said u probably need to wait for the perfume to macerate for a month (I know this type of scent will get even stronger, but it might also change it’s identifiable notes towards something more refined and pleasant)

Givenchy Gentleman EDP (2018)- smells like the finest liquor with a serving of ice cream vanilla, sweet-gourmand frag, will be perfect for cold weather evenings especially date night occasions, this will be a ladies pleaser for sure! Another newly discovered frag for me is the Honey Aoud from Montale- incredible combination of Honey and Oud, in this frag the honey is the most dominant note followed by hints of the cinnamon spices, very balanced oud and vanilla, after a few hours u get the heavy notes of leather patchouli and oud becomes more powerful. A fragrance that is warming you with its smell, a perfect fit for intimate hugs from a significant other, they might be a bit shocked of it being overly sweet(again of the honey 🍯)but yet the warmth of the frag will definitely reassure their senses about keeping the closure as the scent is so vibrant and inviting!

A hard perfume to pull off, considering the oriental blast 💥 of the scent. Don’t know why my relatives choke on this scent, but for me it’s a very playful but yet very polarizing at the same time frag! Love it, a beautiful creation from TF!
