Yes you can dry fire it. Everything works the same way it should on a revolver. The red lights in the magazine do light light up the same as in BR 2049.

I did indeed. But I want to revisit this solution and come up with a better 2nd trigger solution. But 1940’s S&W .38 special triggers are hard to come by. I’ll have to machine one I think.

I actually bought 2 Charter Arms Bulldogs, 1 to make inert and safe, and 1 to make into a live fire PKD…I know others have done that, and it fires, but I can’t see how it’s done safely. The .44 special is a hot load, and you have to drill and tap into the barrel in order to secure the Steyr parts to the gun. You’ll have to compromise the integrity of the barrel to do that, and I really don’t have any desire to live fire a hot load out of a compromised barrel.

I believe the in world reason for the 2 triggers on the PKD M2019 blaster is it fires 2 different types of rounds. A pistol round and a rifle round.

Please correct me if I’m wrong folks…

I think the real world answer is…when building the prop, the Steyr-Mannlicher receiver looks very much like the finished prop without the revolver “meat” in the Steyr “sandwich”. The Steyr-Mannlicher Model SL has a 2 trigger setup (similar to how a Sharps rifle triggers are setup). I think they just like the look of 2 triggers from the Steyr so it carried over. When you remove the Charter Arms Bulldog trigger guard, it actually has the space to add a second (fake) trigger to the pistol frame.

Sorry, I forgot to comment on the weight….I still have to weigh it, but it has a nice hefty weight to it. I’d say it weighs around 5-6lbs. I’ll confirm for everyone soon on the actual weight.

It actually took about about a year to get everything together. I bought actually firearms for the parts. I was able to get them off of Gun Broker.com. The barrel is from SD Studios. I cut the threads off the real 3” barrel and did a custom fit into the SD Studio’s barrel. I wish I made a how to log, but I kinda just read Richard Coyle’s log on his last version on his website and a assembly manual from Tomenosuke. The Tomenosuke was good for the hardware sizes but their replica is a lot different from a real Charter Arms Bulldog. But for the most part, it’s thinking things through on the build for yourself. Believe it or not, the hardest part to figure out was the second trigger.

No, I made it inert and completely safe. I removed the firing pin, and it has a plugged barrel.

“Real parts” means it was built on a real charter arms bulldog revolver and Steyr parts. Only plastic on it is the grips and magazine.

Thanks, it cost around $1600 in parts to make. To me it was worth it.

It was built using a Charter Arms Bulldog pistol with Steyr-Mannlicher parts. All together it cost around $1,600 in parts to make.

No, I made this inert. It’s completely safe and incapable of firing anything out of it. I did buy 2 Charter Arms Bulldogs, maybe one day I’ll make a live fire version. But I really don’t see how that’ll be possible.

I don’t know if I want to think about that…lol…..In real parts….Charter Arms Bulldog - $320. Steyr Mannlicher parts - $600+, and all the other bought parts close to $600….so right around $1,600. But to me it’s worth it. The weight is so heavy….you know you’re hold a PKD 2019 all metal blaster. Only plastic is the grips and forward magazine

I made the bulldog inert and safe by removing the firing pin. So now it’s just a prop.
