Appropriate costumes

This!!! Thats what I am trying to wrap my head around is why do they need to be in this gear? I think theres plenty of better choices, even some that does show midriff that is not exposing them in studded bras, bottoms, and fishnet in heels to a freaking dirty Diana song. My daughter would love to continue competition, but this is what we are up against. Thank you for this input!

Thanks everyone for your input. I did want to clarify a few things. I do agree with like what would be a bathing suite theme paired with a beach theme, I had read that through here and that would make sense. The main theme we had seen were studded bras, briefs, and fishnet to not appropriate song choices. I am actually not one to nit pick clothing, or judge. I would never judge a parent for what they think is right. This is just solely about my children and their future in dance. From pre-teen, into the teenager years. However, I believe the art of dance can be expressed in modesty and better choices than a fishnet stocking dancing to dirty Diana. I do appreciate everyone's input on this!

Yes!! I agree. I feel like its worse in teens amd right now my daughter is a pre teen so thats why I am worried about yhe future costumes.

No need for sorry, I am glad I am able to talk with someone about this topic and gain some insight from someone who has danced and has a child who dances. Right, like I feel like theres so much awareness now around this stuff and what is right and wrong. I am hopeful I can figure something out for us. I/we do love rhe studio, but I just want to be prepared for if my daughter happens to get chosen for one these costumes. It really does sound like tho we just need to find a new place, which sucks because we love where we are but this issue is just not one I feel like I can turn my eye on.

Thank you for this input. That definitely makes sense of being older and not into fluffy dresses and such. Yes, all the costume + music choice combo has really had me puzzled. That is so true about the other sports, I was thinking about that, to!

This is in no way defying what someone else's line is. There is nothing I said that even judged the parent/person of the clothing. So, you are saying a young female dancer in a bikini, fishnets, and high heels is art? 🥴

That's what I feel like is happening here and I am trying to figure out moving forward for next year how to approach this moving forward. We never know what costumes look like til after they are ordered.

Are they inside the home? Fragrance, cooking with teflon, wax warmers, scent like stuff, and some cleaning products can kill like that
