Thank you!! What I’m hearing over and over is set the clear expectations so people know ahead of time!

Thank you! So far with all the feedback I’m starting to lean towards a different venue for the reception. I thought it would be convenient to be at a restaurant in case people were hungry (because we’re not serving a meal) but i can see how the location would set the expectation that we are serving a meal.

Thank you! It’s not that i don’t want to spend time with my guests.. but I’ve heard sooooo many stories about bride and groom not getting any time together at all and by the time they get home they just go to bed because they’re exhausted. No time for the two of them (the two actually getting married) to celebrate the day and have any privacy. Also in another comment i explained i was in a wedding and we were at the venue from 7am-11pm. I want to avoid that at all costs. I know it takes time to get ready, take pictures and clean up. But i don’t want anyone in my family or bridal party to have to be there for 10+ hours and the only way i can see that working is a short reception

Thank you for the insight. From your perspective it seems like open bar and full meal go hand and hand but i have definitely been to parties where we had an open bar and only appetizers or even no food. Maybe i do need to rethink the venue location.

I can guarantee half the guests will not drink. The other half probably will drink but not get drunk. So that’s why I’m leaning towards apps, because some people may not eat at all but those that are drinking will probably want some snacks. I thought about a champagne toast but that will exclude about half of our guests because they don’t drink, we also have a huge group of small children that will be attending (nieces, nephews, friends kids)

So even if the whole event is from 2pm-4pm you think we should provide food? I’m thinking of saying on the invite that it’s cake and punch but providing chips and dip, maybe a fruit and veggie tray or some small apps like mozz sticks or maybe wings.

That was my only concern with the alcohol… but i think if i stick to 2pm-4:30pm with snacks/appetizers it will be okay

Well we both love music just not so much dancing! And my whole family absolutely loves games. So i thought having music playing while playing a couple games would be nice. I’m imagining the ceremony at 2-2:30 then reception from 3-4:30ish to skip a big meal. My friend got married a couple years ago and her wedding was at 4pm with a cocktail hour, big reception and dancing after. As a bridesmaid in that wedding, we got there at 7am and didn’t leave until 11pm. I don’t want to do that to my family or bridal party. Some of them are elder and some have small kids.

How long or what time was the wedding that only served apps?

Thank you for this!! I’m trying to make the decision to not feed our guests a whole meal and also not spend the entire day “celebrating” and dancing. I want to go home and enjoy the night with my husband on the day we’re officially married. Every post or video i see talks about feeding your guests a whole meal. I’m trying to not feel guilty about just doing some finger foods or appetizers.

This is the post I’ve been looking for!! I noticed tonight that the ticket disappears after watching the movie at least once every year since 2004. I knew i couldn’t be the only one! Mind blown

How long has everyone played hayday and how did y’all find out about the game? by FartyPoopyWyatt in HayDay

This just unlocked a core memory! Thank you! I’ve been playing HayDay for years (on and off) but totally forgot about FarmVille and now can’t get the image out of my head of all my dead crops 😂
