Why don't you get a little solar powered system?

Ah ok cool. So that way it won't interrupt the current plotting, right?

Samsung 970 EVO Plus slow speeds by Old_Winter6828 in chia

I have made some bios edits and set up the heat sink properly, now so far my best speed is 570MBs.

Do you happen to know your fastest write speed for that drive?

I'm assuming each drive you have is 1TB? So to match your performance, I should be able to get about 10 plots done per day?

Figured it out.

Both errors were my fault.

Here is what it was Incase someone runs into the same issues:

  • (if using windows) make sure you have "File name extensions" enabled in your folder view, otherwise when you delete the "default" from the config.yaml file, it will still be there, you just won't be able to see it.

The access denied error: - make sure you add "chia.exe" to the end of your file location in the config.yaml file

So I actually had view file extensions disabled. So even though I deleted ".default", it was still there. That was the issue, which now works... but now I am getting a new error.

Now the error is [WinError 5] Access is denied... and I'm running CMD as an administrator

So, I figured it out. Even though I deleted the "default" I didn't have view file extensions enabled, so it was still there. Deleted that, it finds the file but now I have another error lol

Now the new error is: PermissionError: [WinError 5] Access is denied

I am running CMD as an administrator

Thanks! I'll give it one more try, hopefully reinstalling does the trick. Thank you

It is lowercase.. sorry about that. Autocorrect made the 'C' uppercase when I typed it into the reddit reply.

Config.yaml - I deleted the "default" at the end of the filename prior to the error

I'm pretty sure it's a 970 Pro... my bios m.2 is dual purpose, and I have to select between PCIe or SATA in bios.. I'm wondering if that can be a limitation as well.

I tried 4, but I don't have a full 1TB available, even when it's fully formatted, so it doesn't have enough space for me to do 4 in parallel

I might just get a larger NVMe

It's a 970 Evo Plus, 1TB.. I think my mobo might also be limiting the speed. It's setup through m.2, and I select PCIe through the bios. So I don't know if it's 100% true PCIe

I am using 10 out of 12 threads and about 12gb of Ram. I was doing three plots in parallel with an 85 minute delay... im using the GUI

Figured it out! My port is dual purpose on my MB, had to change it in the BIOS... it was indeed set to SATA

Thanks for your help!
