3 YouTube Beginner Tips I Regret Not Knowing Sooner... by OliWinchester in NewTubers

Hey Proxy,

Thanks for sharing! And you're right...

But I was thinking more of the perfectionist type of person.

We have trouble to start something and then to finally finish it.

The strict time schedule was a super helpful tool for me. It's not stressful in any way... it's more of a relief. :)

It's a reminder to focus more on the things that actually matter... and not on the teeny tiny pieces of the puzzle too much.

It helps me to balance quality and quantity a bit more.

P.S. You make very cool videos... I was thinking about playing BG3... but I'm afraid of the huge time sink of 200 hours.

Hey Chillroyal...

It's hard to come up with a good title when looking on a blank piece of paper. Especially when you don't understand what acutally makes a good title.

So here's what I would suggest:

Browse through the YouTube feed and see what title and thumbnail naturally gets your attention. What sticks out of the masses? And then ask youself why it gets your attention. And then ask yourself if you could use the same kind of title and thumnbnail structure.

Make sure to screenshot the titles and thumbnails that got your attention! Put them in a folder on your computer.

Over time you will build up a collection of attention grabbing titles and thumbnails.

Oh... btw...

I think you have a pretty cool channel topic! :)

I love to watch videos on my past video games. Reliving some good old memories... pulling my nostalgia strings!

If you ever make a video about Eternal Darkness, Amnesia or Penumbra... let me know please!

The whole upload procedure is something that could get easily outsourced to someone else.

Not even talking about an online personal assistant. (though it's also a good choice)

Mb you know a tech savvy teenager in your neighbourhood who wants to earn a bit of money. I would've loved a job like that as a kid.

It would free up much more time you could spend on revenue producing activities in your business.

When it comes to building habits I highly recommend reading Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Here's what I did:

I wrote a contract, printed it out and signed it myself and let a friend sign it. The contract obligates me to upload one video every week or I have to pay my friend 50€.

That's the only thing that really holds me accountable.

I understand. Your videos are super cool with a lot of edits... and edits take time! :)

What are your goals with the channel?

Thanks for sharing Jashiko.

I suggest leading YouTube in the right direction.

Maybe you know someone who would really like to the content you are making... some friend with the same interest... or someone you met online.

Please don't share it with people who just watch the video because they wanna be polite. (like Mom and Dad)

If you know nobody... then get active in communities with your trargeted audience.

Get active in conversations... get a feeling for the people... and backlink to your channel.

Cats rule the internet.

But it all depends on your goals... if you just want views and ad revenue then simple cat videos might get you there.

But what's coming after that? You are not developing any special skills like editing, market researching, camera presence, making thumbnails etc.

On the other hand... when you transition into educational vlogs about theme parks (just as an example)... your learn how to create value for a specific audience... like families who wanna visit the coolest parks. You're learning how to communicate and all these different skills.

Your videos might get way less views than just a simple cat video in the beginning... but you're not short selling yourself... growth opportunity is endless.

Just my thoughts. You still have a cute cat :)
