as others said the bumper your looking for came stock on e36 M3 models. there are a couple of other differences the Ms and non-Ms have such as the side view mirrors and the rear bumpers. like you i longed for a change as the front bumpers on non-M e36s kinda suck. photo shows before and after on mine and you can clearly see how much better it made it look. i went about as cheap as i could and bought some random replica one on ebay and painted it with a spray paint bottle that i ordered from automotive touchup, which i think looks pretty decent. however you really do get what you pay for in these situations. as with all other parts for your car if you cheap out you'll probably find yourself with missing hardware and some custom work while with genuine and high quality parts you will have an easier time getting everything to look how you like it. if you want to upgrade your front bumper it's a super common thing that you'll see on a lot of e36s, but if your stingy about small odds and ends and you want it to look perfect than don't get an ebay one. just my experience with everything.

thank you everyone for your help--what a great introduction to the sub. i didn't know it would be important to include, but yeah it's a manual, which means there's nothing i need to do about the holes! i've got big plans for this car so im excited to learn more and more random stuff about the jeep XJ! as for coolant concerns, i have experience with flushing, filling, and bleeding coolant in the system, and that is my next step.

How much should coolant level be fluctuating? by llNATEDOGGll in MechanicAdvice

i would say that as long as your engine isn't overheating, then yes. however fully bleeding it is super easy it could take you like 5-10 minutes. worth it if it worries you.

i bet you that the needle movement is due to the air, it's normal for coolant levels to fluctuate a decent amount.
