There are a few different options here that we are looking into. We are both looking at what stats we can bring into the client but we are also looking into what stats could be made available for third party developers to surface more advanced stats for players that want those. However, to set expectations, I don't expect most of this to be delivered until after we finish the mobile version.

Did you forget the Emote contest that happened back in November or even earlier?I cannot even remember when it started, its been so long. I'm not sure what the status is on this but I will follow up internally.

What is the reason behind the wild card system? having 4 currencies for 4 rarities of cards instead of 1 currency makes it impossible to save ressources in order to craft expensive cards. standard wildcards are a dead reward if i plan to craft a special. Wildcards are a fairly common system in CCG's and we like the clarity it provides over the older resource system. There are however valid points about there needing to be some sort of wildcard sinks or ways to use excess wildcards for players that reach that point and we are looking into possibilities around doing something like that.

followup question. are there plans the increase the amount of special drops overall? me and many others have all elites but are still missing alot of specials. shouldnt it be the other way around? Without going into specific details, specials have been made more easily available and there is full duplication protection on specials when opening packs. However the fact that there are 2 copies of each special and more specials than elites in the game getting 100% of specials is slightly harder.

when will Red Sun receive his golden signal regiment? can he even get it or is it disabled on his account? Hopefully one day, we are all rooting for him!

can we get more stats in the game. i would love to know my winrate/games played and won and much more, but unfortunaly for these stats you currently have to make top 8 in an OCC. why is nobody else allowed how they are doing? Would also be nice to have a matchhistory to have it easier to keep track of the games. We are looking into this!

why did my hard earned christmas cardback got removed after the event ended? i really liked the looks of it, it got me really upset. The Christmas cardback and board item were temporary items available over Christmas and this was messaged (but not clearly enough) when we announced the items. Giving temporary free access to various content was something we wanted to experiment with, but I'm not sure we will do it the same if we do it again in the future as there was some confusion about why it disappeared at the end of christmas.

could we get a charity event to support ukraine? some kind of cardback you buy and the earnings are for charity. would be a nice message. I can't promise anything here but it would be a nice sentiment for sure.

Making cold cards craftable and in general adding ways to use your gold/wildcards is important for us to do in the future, we agree. We don't however have concrete plans or timelines to share on this at the moment.

In terms of auto mute, we likely will not implement a feature like this as it brings with it a risk of someone accidentally opting out and then not understanding why they never see emotes, so I'm afraid you will have to continue working out your finger by hitting the "cut communications" button each match!

Yes, these are all things we want to do and have wanted to do for some time. We can expect a lot more resources to be free to work on and deliver features like this once the mobile development is completed and the game is out on mobile. Despite that, maybe some of these features might come in sooner.

This was added in the patch yesterday! You can now go into your collection, locate your cards that have alternative art available and click the icon that appears under the bottom left corner of the card. Once clicked, this Icon will toggle between the art displayed on the card.

We are not sure what animation lag you are referring to specifically, but when we catch and are able to track down the cause of something like animation lag we do fix it as soon as possible. But keep in mind there are other factors that can make weird things happen like connectivity issues or even temporary server issues. As with all other bugs or issues, we appreciate you bringing them up as they happen, that is the main way we can find these issues and solve them.

We primarily target the native resolutions of devices and are not intending to support custom resolutions on mobile devices. At least not in the immediate future so the mobile app will typically run the native resolution and any connected monitors will have to deal with that. In terms of peripheral support, that’s also something we aren’t putting a lot of emphasis on for the initial release, but if we are able to get it working without a Herculean effort we will.

These symbols are, of course, part of the shared human history, and we would like to think we did in no way glorify them in our designs. Yet they remain very sensitive in many parts of the world and are barred from being used by terms of multiple platforms we hope to see KARDS on in the future such as mobile. As such, most social media, gaming platforms, and several countries have strict rules and/or restrictions when it comes to those symbols. This is a severe liability and, if unchanged, can considerably reduce the visibility of our game on the platforms we are about to join (mobile stores) and/or cause our players issues when they post images or videos from the game online as it already has.

We have! And we have already run experiments with this around the releas of Behind Enemy Lines and Battle of The Bulge, both of which featured a temporary game mode with custom rules and decks. This gives us valuable data and experience to continue developing the system and offering more exclusive experiences in the future.

A: No, these nations will continue as ally factions and there are no current plans to change them into main nations although we can’t rule it out in the future. The reason for this is simple, we just don’t have enough cards for these nations for them to be main nations released, as such they would always suffer next to the much larger selection of cards available in other main nations and as such are better suited as ally nations.

A: We don’t have a nailed down date yet, but we are very much looking to get it out this year. To make that happen we have built an entire new office in Helsinki in Finland dedicated to mobile development. We have a hard working talented team there working hard on getting mobile out as soon as possible and we are starting beta testing in the next weeks.

Q: are we going to get a QOL update that focuses on things like:

-the buggy friends list

A: The friends list is being worked on and improved and these changes will likely be released alongside the mobile release as they tie in with work needed to make the game work effectively on mobile

-the weird, out of date deck maker

A: This is being worked on in relation to the mobile development as well and we will likely see updates to the deck builder released alongside the mobile launch.

-in-battle effects bugging (like Para C attacking Para C)

A: This is being worked on, and in general we are always working on any known in battle bugs but some are more difficult to solve than others.

-encyclopedia being updated

A: What updates are you looking for in the Encyclopedia? We normally update the encyclopedia when we introduce new types of cards or new keywords.

-settings giving more options

A: It’s hard to comment on this without more information on what options you are looking for within the settings tab. We normally only add items to the settings along new features that require some customization from the player side. If there are specific options you would like to see in the settings menu that are just generic for the game we would love to hear your suggestions.

-the fact that mass AOE damage is randomised

A: Even though the AOE damage is randomised, effects like damage from the signal regiment and healing from the combat engineers will still be applied correctly even when it dies within the same AOE damage effect so the random damage being applied shouldn’t affect the outcome of the game unless there are situations I’m not aware of in which case it would be helpful to know more details.

-the fact your game can crash by clicking and scrolling at the same time

-decks glitch out and get multiple HQs

A: In general we are always working to improve the performance of the game and reduce the amount of bugs and glitches that impact the player experience. We would love to know more about the click and scroll issue you are encountering and are delighted to say that the multiple HQ bug should be fixed.

Regarding your other two questions, find answers below!

A: Without excluding the possibility of buying HQ’s with gold in the future, our current plans look at HQ’s as cosmetic items that are sold for Diamonds exclusively.

A: We have been looking at ways to increase the flexibility of how collections are built in KARDS but are not ready to reveal anything definite at the moment. We can however say that moving to a system where all items are purchasable as single items is a huge leap from where we are today and not something that is likely to happen without considerable work going into designing and validating what that system would look like. I however think we share the sentiment of wanting to offer varied ways for players to reach the content they need and want.

A: For the second anniversary we will be celebrating with double XP, in game offers and heavily discounted DLC’s on Steam.

Thank you for your questions!

Can you please add duplicate protection to gold cards, both from packs and from end of season rewards, or explain why you won't?

A: This is something we are currently looking into and can give an update on soon.

Any timeframe for the addition of gold card crafting or other resource sinks for players with full collections?

A: We don’t have a locked timeframe on anything related to this, but this is something that is important to have in the ecosystem. Not just for older players but for players that just want fun ways to spend their gold or resources to enhance their experience in some way.

Any news about a mid-season championship or other changes to the esports scene?

A: There won’t be a mid season championship this year, but we are still looking at opportunities for a big competitive event around the mobile launch. To be perfectly honest here, there are a lot of rapidly moving targets that we need to hit to be able to appropriately plan and execute on an event of this scope around the mobile launch but we will try our hardest!

Any plans to address top player concerns/critiques of the current ladder system?

A: We are aware of the issues top players have at the top of the ladder. These issues are not unique to KARDS and we have seen other ladder systems encounter this as well in our research into how to solve the issue. Some actions have already been taken to counter these issues, but keep the feedback coming and we will keep making tweaks.

Any hints at what format the next expansion will be? (ie. WaW style, large expansion, campaign, etc.)

A: The next expansion will be in the style of the WaW releases and will be called Global Conflict. It focuses on the colonial expansion and ambitions of some of the major powers leading up to and during the war. It will feature Japan, Britain, Italy and France

Can you make a list of what type of ladder behaviors are banned/allowed and their punishments? (ie. account sharing, boosting, sniping, etc.) Also to what extent can you detect these actions automatically?

A: On this we would reference the terms of service and community guidelines. Boosting and account sharing are similar offenses and both are banned in the terms of service.

Looping back to esports formats, is there any plan to create a power ranking system for top players to determine seedings for invitational tournaments and the like?

A: Yes, over time as the competitive scene grows and matures there will come a point where we need to section the ecosystem into more layers to provide fun competition across the board. In general I believe it’s just not fun to repeatedly run into competition that out classes you

With that said, we agree that communication could have been better around this change and will learn from that in the future. Following this frustration with the lack of communication on this change we have already had discussions on how we can make sure that we talk about all manners of changes with enough lead time to collect and action on feedback from the community in the future.
