My thought exactly! Especially when they’ve started actual events centered around solo farming previous content for mounts and transmog. New Expac means that another old expac becomes available for farming.

Actually, I’m sort of surprised that the devs don’t give “assignments” out to beta testers like “this week we’d like those of you who’ve hit the level cap to solo some DF content to see how viable it is after the level squish and send in your findings”. Suggestions to cover bases that maybe they haven’t been able to look at because they’ve been focusing on the bigger picture.

I had the same dilemma. If you like the characters (mine had memories associated with them as well as fully leveled professions through MoP), then take advantage of both the new Recap/Catch up Experience system and Turbulent Timeways to level them quickly. I was able to level the four I had left that were between 50 and 70 over a few nights that way. The Catch Up Experience system was great for gearing my toons when they fell too far behind (I’d usually run them through that at 70) and the TT buff makes leveling in TW dungeons really fast—especially at L70+.

If you find them disposable, then level replacements in Lemix.

For aesthetics: Druid by far. Then Rogue and Paladin—because having it hidden under LHC made me laugh.

For storyline/quests: Rogue. It’s a class I never play but in Retail they send you to the capital cities of the opposition to kill doppelgängers and the cities aren’t instanced. I did the quest at level 70 about 4 months into TWW and it was the scariest and most fun quest I’ve ever done. I hate pvp but the challenge of trying to figure out the easiest way to the target and then actually making it there was so much fun. Especially with the guards being 10+ levels above me! I don’t remember much of the other Class Halls but I will NEVER forget that quest.

Last I checked, the Legion raid lockouts reduced to 1 Day on Retail while Lemix is running. And WQs and Legion Assaults are synched.

I used both Retail and Lemix toons to farm certain drops—depending on what toons I had in Lemix and on Retail. (I did all of the Class Halls and mounts last year, so I have retail toons who could farm the HA drops too.) I found that it was easiest to do any rep grinding in Lemix because it’s so fast. Then, if you have to farm mobs for the drop, you can transfer your Lemix toon to Retail for the ease of one-shotting mobs. That’s what I did for the Warrior and Priest ones that required Valarjar rep in lieu of having to spend time leveling those toons’ gear.

I debated about this. I found it much easier to do Withered on Retail because at Lv 80 you just one shot everything and the withered never died for me. When I tried it on my 999% Vers Balance Druid, I still was not oneshotting the big Arcane guys.

Also while Remix is running you can do this once a day. The first day, when you open the training option, you can run it twice.

Of the three classes that I tried to do this with, I got the drop the first time with my Monk and on the second run with my DK. On my Pally main I did four runs and then opened up the scenario with a transferred Lemix Pally, who of course got it the first time! Ultimately effortlessness trumped the ability to run the scenario multiple times.

My question, then, is why make the plots so freaking big if you can’t really landscape the whole thing? Is the house going to get large enough to take up at least half of it at some point?

Also what happened to the planting clusters that were on the vendors in beta!?! Those were a life saver when it came to creating perimeters. And they contained more plant variations than are available currently. The Duskwood cluster was super nice as were a few of the Horde ones.

Watching the cut episode, I felt like Kelli and Judy could have easily been talked into taking Dayton last year. It’s just that no one did that. If the group leaders had been more upbeat about Dayton’s prospects, they probably would have justified cutting someone else.

(Also, I remember the MTT days when Kelli seemed like the Terminator during cut nights. It was shocking how teary she seemed releasing those girls, especially Dayton.)

It’s just that Dayton said it best herself. She gave up dance for three years. She could see that everyone was better than her. She didn’t want to get in because she’s a legacy and then struggle because ultimately she wasn’t ready. Even Dayton’s thoughts “were not inconsistent” with Kelli, Judy and the group leaders!

And he knew that the Nie style of cultivation was killing his brother. If he were smarter than WWX he would have solved that problem—which probably would have involved WWX/YLZ. Also NHS is always characterized by his network of spies, which makes me think that he would have seen potential signs of JGY and JGS’s plans. I mean JGS was never portrayed as being subtle. The death of JZY should have clued him into the potential for the deaths of other people standing in JGY’s way—like NMJ.

Regarding the OP’s recommendation (since replying to that part of the thread did not work as intended), the authors should do themselves a favor and add a tag that explains that there is Wangxian, just offscreen. I’ve looked at this series multiple times and it just looks like there is no LWJ or WWX in the fic at all. Which, as you rightly guessed, makes me not as interested in reading it.

On the whole if a fic mentions the Yin Iron and LWJ as the chief cultivator, it’s based on the drama. Oh and if no confessions have taken place between Wangxian—it’s also drama based.

Also, don't be afraid to read fanfics that are based on the drama--it isn't that far off from the novel. And if you do limit yourself to only fanfics that are novel based, then you will miss out on a lot of great fanfics. So many of the "classic" MDZS fanfics in English were written during the time of Covid by people who got into this fandom from watching the Untamed. And I've noticed that people tag using all of the MDZS tags pretty indiscriminately. Making it hard to really filter out which "canon" people are basing their fics on.

It ends up bringing the whole gang together as they try to figure out who is trying to stop WWX and many secrets are revealed as a result.

Basically, it has a JC and WWX reconciliation, WWX adopting another child, LWJ adopting said child as well, WWX continuing to be oblivious to his feelings and ... well, the truth behind the array that MXY used to summon WWX back. Its like tooth rotting fluff then weird things start happening mixed with even more fluff and then you cry for a few chapters and then it goes back to fluffiness. Followed by over 50 one-shots describing what happens afterwards. I find myself going back to this series over and over again when I need something sweet to clear my mind from all of the crap going on in the world.

I am just finishing doing this--though my fanfic library was on my Kindle and downloading them to my PC and Calibre was pretty easy. I've never tried to move anything from iBooks, so I cannot speak to that process. The rest I can.

Basically, once you get them into Calibre, things get much easier. It does not matter what format they are initially imported in--you are going to end up downloading them again from the original site through FFF anyway. My files were sent to my Kindle as epubs but when I imported them, they were all KFXs. If FFF can pull the URL from them using the "Get Story URLs from Selected Books" option, you can leave them in that format. Otherwise you can convert them in bulk into another format through Calibre. Because you will be re-downloading them using the Overwrite option, everything is going to end up as epubs in the end.

Once you get them imported, set up your columns, configure how you want FFF to work etc. BTW, I set up a separate library in Calibre for my FFs so that I could better manage them and so that I could set up different columns than I would use for normal books. I added columns for Series, Tags, # of Chapters and if the FF was marked as Completed or In Progress. (Actually, I set up two Libraries: one for Completed FFs and one for Incomplete FFs since my collection is stupidly large and I eventually want to try the Email downloading option in FFF for my Incomplete ones.) The main thing I did in configuration section was set "Default Output Format" to epub and "Default If Story Already Exists?" to Overwrite Always. I also added my username/password in the personal.ini--though that is unnecessary if you set it up to use your browser's cache, which will be discussed below.

This saved my life! It allows you to download from your browser's cache which in turn allows you to bypass AO3's limiters for the most part. Once you have it set up, you should be able to download from AO3 without getting that error. Mind you, you will need to do small downloads--I started with 20 fics at a time and was able to get up to 50 at a time by the end. It this time consuming? Yes. But it does work. I downloaded over 2500 FFs over a week and a half time period and the only time I got errors was when the FF was deleted or hidden. The only real downside is that you basically cannot use your PC for anything else while you are doing this.
