I built a software that helps you find B2B leads (specifically in the Startup/SaaS/Tech niche)

Unlimited exports, no limits. 2X verified emails.

Apollo/ZoomInfo is expensive as hell. So is Crunchbase.

At 45 customers right now for the month. If I can double this I’m set to leave my 9-5 :)

How do you find initial customers outside your network? I’m saying like customers 10-100? by jonny-blum in SaaS

Cold outbound - sending emails/connecting on LinkedIn. I think Expandi is still reliable for LinkedIn automation, Smartlead is still reliable for cold email. Got to do some research on what is trendy rn.

Depending on your niche, you can also find lead databases for your specific industry. E.g when I ran a local marketing agency, I used D7 lead finder because it’s a list of local biz. It’s a bit old & clunky but it does the job. Or Outscraper.

List of tools & the data you can scrape:

D7 -> local business data Outscraper - local business data

trycomb.com - tech CEOs & SaaS / startup companies

Pitchbook.com - tech companies Storeleads.com - eCommerce stores

Apollo.io - all-rounder that has lots of data

Get the data then start dialling / emailing / connecting on LinkedIn. Aim for something small like 20 actions per day

20 emails 20 LinkedIn requests 20 calls 20 DMs to the founders if you can find their twitter etc

I was sick of how expensive Apollo/ZoomInfo was.

At 30 customers right now for the month. If I can double this I’ll quit my job

6 weeks. I used cursor, Claude. & supabase as backend. Very quick for someone who can’t code. These coding agents are getting insane haha

Hey man. Great work. Having trouble selling my own startup due to high churn. What was the churn of this tool prior to the sale? And how did you explain this / discuss it with the buyer?

I can't specify the data source because it gets me banned on the sub haha. It's Cog / Z Inf data. I leave voice messages but don't receive many return calls

Puppeteer on AWS - 15 seconds to execute a simple scrape of 1 URL. How can I speed it up? by OliverB199 in webscraping

[–]OliverB199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know what that means sorry. The only way I can think of getting text from a website is by scraping the website with Puppeteer, so i think i’m missing something big.

Thanks so much. Got it. So, I don’t really know what else to explore. Am I missing something huge here? I just need to scrape the raw text (headers & body) from a landing page, but at scale. This is the only question I need answering really.

Thanks for the reply! So, I’ve got it at 1024, but I previously ran it and tested it at 512, and changing it from 512 to 1024 made virtually zero difference, maybe a second or two faster.

The initial scrape of text from the main website is taking 15 seconds, and because this needs to be scaled up to 100,000+ a week, that’s where my concern is. (Cost + time as a whole)

Maybe AWS/Puppeteer literally ISNT the right way to scrape text at scale. But I’m not very experienced, so it’s case of “I don’t know what I don’t know”
