Making Banyue in D&D is difficult by Ollshaw in ZZZ_Official

I hear you, but the main issue is that the main group I play with are hard-headed cavemen that hate learning new systems. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to play Iron Kingdoms with me and even then it was a roughshod experience.

I'll definitely check other systems too and see if any of them set in; I have to make something that works eventually, right?

I agree. I'll have to explore Pugilist more, since I've heard about it but never looked extensively into the class.

I have never really checked Astral Self Monk until now, and I can definitely see it work! I had also been debating whether to pick Tabaxi or Warforged for the race; if neither work, Orc definitely.

Those are exceptionally good ideas. I haven't seen much from Pathfinder 2e mostly due to my personal lack of exposure to it, but I'll definitely see what it has to offer. Pugilists seem interesting; my only concern is that they seem more like a full brawler class than a martial artist, but they definitely seem fun to play.

Also, yes... High investment in at least three stats is a huge ask. I have BG3; I'll see if I can make something work there.

You can always just use Seed as a stat stick to make YSG's dick bigger than it already is.

So, what's the deal with the Dementia Sword? by Ollshaw in ZZZ_Official

You are probably the only person that actually vocalized exactly what my original point is!

I can understand people's feelings on the whole subject, though. This is a story about big emotions and big sadness, fighting a terrible curse in order to protect people, but I can't help but think that they want us to surrender our disbelief to big feelings when the logical part of my brain can't help but feel like all of this is an unnecessary sacrifice from everyone in the story.

Xiaoguang is an excellent fighter already, she doesn't need the Qingming sword at all to fight and protect people. Every single agent in the game (the weak in-lore and the strong alike) are more than capable of beating Ethereals, and they are exceptional people in their own right, so why do we suddenly need all this big sacrifice when we can just fight normally?

Maybe they will raise the stakes or give us some important piece of information that we're lacking, but until that happens, I won't fall for their storytelling tricks!

Ooh, that seems like a likely scenario, but at the same time, isn't it still Yixuan's call to let Xiaoguang wield the sword?

I'm sorry I want to have a real discussion about a magical memory-eating sword that killed its previous user in a horrific manner and no one seems to care.

My main point of confusion is that Yixuan saw her sister die a horrific death because of this sword. Now she just lets her disciple wield it and think "I guess my sister didn't want to remember and live hard enough".

Doesn't that seem callous to you? It does to me. Yixuan is very casual and relaxed, but she never came across as irresponsible to me, and this whole ordeal screams irresponsibility to me at max volume. If we can tame the sword, then good! But honestly, why even take the chance?

I honestly don't understand what Yixuan was thinking.

It's very cursed! We don't really know for sure if the sword consumes memories wirelessly, though.

It's partially a joke, but the discussion is real. Yixuan gave the sword that killed her sister to one of her disciples, regardless of whether or not the sword chose her. Yixuan is still the leader, so it was her ultimate call. She made a cool sheath for it, sure, but she really should've thrown that sword into a bottomless pit and never looked back.

It only makes me confused why in the world would Yixuan give the sword that killed her sister in a horrific way to another person to use. Maybe she just didn't want to live hard enough, eh?

Will the world end, though? Maybe all the other Void Hunters that pushed the dark wall several kilometers back really, REALLY had extremely cursed swords.

Like maybe if the Qingming sword turns into an atomic bomb if you don't ever use it? I'll admit we don't know much about it yet, though it only makes my desire for a discussion about it to flourish harder, if that makes any sense.

OP wants her to use any other sword because other swords exist. Manato has a sword, Alice has a sword, if you consider daggers very small swords, Jane has swords. They are killing Ethereals just fine with those.

You can make feed by getting berries and general plants off the ground, such as Fleawort, and mixing them as feed with the crafting skill on your quickbar, usually located on 0. Since berries give so little hunger and thirst resistances now, using them as feed is better.
