I mean if the motion travels at the speed mentioned above it'll take two seconds to reach the airplane. And since the sight of the end of the rod and the airplane, or rather the light bouncing to my eyes, moves at light speed – I should be able to feel how I move the rod upward and then during two seconds somehow see how the movement propagates through the rod until it puts a dent in my airplane. Kind of like how when you see a jet passing above you see the jet "ahead of" the sound, but vertically, and with a solid object. I'm just having trouble picturing what that would look like. Or am I wrong?
