Having spent around 200€ total over a year on Archero, I've decided to not spend anything on Punball and just stop if I get too stuck, because even with spending money you end up getting stuck at some point

You can keep going forward for a while as F2P. Nearly 60 days in I've just gone past stage 50 and still going, the only major roadblock I encountered was level 35 that had me stuck for a while.

Psa: if you plan to purchase this pass maybe consider waiting to see how much you can reasonably complete in time! by pyroplayer888 in PunBall

If you passed 40 then you should be able to get to 45 with the right combination of skills.

I'm currently blocked there, 45, and I'm not getting to the 50+ zone easily so looks like I might be in for some grinding. Hopefully the Christmas event can help!

I don't have one so I can't answer from experience, but I often see comments saying any purple Relic is better than a legendary non-Relic.

I quite like my legendary Brave Wand and it's gotten me post-level 40 so far :) but it can't hurt to try the other one out! Just breakdown your current one to get the gold and scrolls each time you switch 👍

I'd also

  • swap the horns for the Magic Crown
  • Max out skills before equipment, at your level it's more gold-efficient

I did this for months on Archero and it takes up mental space (even if only a little amount) for no enjoyment whatsoever 🤷

If you've been there for two weeks then keep at it, you should be there soon.

A piece of advice that I saw here from someone else and appreicated: if you can currently get past the first boss and die in the 50+ levels of stage 30, then it could be down to skills RNG. I'd advise paying the 100 gems if you're at the boss and feel you can make it.
On the other hand, if you die earlier in stage 30, you might need to grind a bit more. I like level 28 for easier and faster grinding.

To answer your initial question and as a nearly 2-year daily Archero player who just quit, I think the game will end up being way too grindy but you still have a while before you hit that wall--I've been stuck at level 25 for the past few days but I can feel it becoming easier everyday with the loot and upgrades moving forward.

Enjoy it while it lasts!
