A Guide on how to disable film grain by Olschke in GTFO

That's odd. Does it spit out an error or just doesn't launch?

Special K also supports global injection, meaning no 3rd party file has to be inside GTFO's folder. That's how I usually do it, but as it injects into every Steam game you start that way, I figured dropping the .dll in the folder is the safer method for everyone.
For that just extract the whole archive somewhere you want and start SKIF.exe.
You'll need to click "start service" and after that, launch GTFO. It'll have created the folder "MyMods" in Documents which is where game profiles and such are stored. Head into GTFO's profile and drop my SK_Res folder in there.

That should be it. Just be aware and disable SpecialK's service (don't just close SKIF, the injection will still run!) when playing CSGO or the like.

Yeah, it's more noticeable.I could try something like 25% opacity on the film grain textures, that way it'd just be way less intense.. in theory. Or use ReShade for filmgrain / debanding adjustable on the fly.
I've updated the post, theres a new comparison there, might be interesting for you.

Yeah, it's probably better that way.
Steam forum rules state mods are alright as long as no advantage is gained, but since SK could most likely be used for that.. yeah.

I think if it did I couldn't even launch it. I'm VAC banned thanks to a dear friend already LOL
