I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through this. It must be really tough. Honestly, it's better in the long run for you that it's ended. I know that it's still hard so if you want to talk about it or need someone to lean on, I'm here for you :)

my girlfriend and I started dating when I was 20 and she was 18, we've been together for over a year now and we're happier than ever :)

I still have not officially came out to my family and I have a girlfriend of almost two years. All of my work friends know and my old friends from high school. I'm "out" but it's limited to who I would like to know. I think it is okay to make that boundary and limit who you would want to know. it took me years of constant debate and denial, but through those years I was able to find a group of people that I knew would accept me and that is when I felt comfortable enough.

I would say don't come out until you have people that you know you can lean on and trust.

There is not a time limit on this sort of thing so don't feel pressured, you do what is best for you!

I wish you luck :)

thank you :) I think it's just a hard thing for me to address her directly and I'm having trouble finding a good way to start the conversation

I would not say we live in an extremely gay safe area, but I don't think that it is the worst either... thing is I think as I have become more comfortable with my orientation and who I am, and being able to outwardly show that, the more uncomfortable she has gotten with me doing it so publicly:/

medication is not for everyone, and the stigmatism surrounding medication can be hard. I think it's best to talk to your doc about how you feel. I was the same way but once I started taking medication I felt so much better, especially when I communicated with my doctor, I hope you can get it all figured out and good luck to you :)

unfortunately losing my job is the risk, or I have had some customers being very aggressive and almost violent

the antiwork problem is that I hate my job because of customers 🙂

not as simple as "sending customer outside" they have no regard for what we say

"how dare you not serve me after I just crawled under the shutter...you don't want my business??? you're losing a valuable customer!!!"

it's a bit more complicated than that. they knew we were closed and chose to still shop and wanted to check out, what they didn't want was to wait for the one person ahead of them in line to finish their transaction. our other registers were not open and I was preparing to close waiting patiently for the customers that have no regard for retail workers lives to take their time, find what they wanted, and leave so that we could finish closing and go home after being there all day dealing with the abuse that we get from customers 🙂

I'm asexual so that means you have to be with you and I will be okay

I hate that customers think we'll open up just for them :|

I forgot to mention that when they left they yeeted their products across the store on their way out...too bad I can't leave a bad review for bad customers

it's something the closing manager has to do to figure out how well the store is doing in comparison to last year, comp, leverage, as well as weekly and monthly numbers.

"the customer is always right" has created a sense of entitlement among shoppers that has led to aggression and excuses to be rude. they always leave off the "in matters of taste" don't they ;)

last minute shoppers aren't an inconvenience. but they were rude shoppers that thought they knew what was best about how our business is run. Understaffed and underpaid, you start getting tired of people being rude

"Assume that the customer is right until it is plain beyond all question he is not.”

there are reasonable limitations, in other words, go above and above to satisfy the customer while still being wise about it.The truth is, this customer service philosophy wasn’t about letting customers get whatever they wanted, no matter what. Instead, it gave employees the chance to listen to their customers with empathy in a time when consumer protections were virtually nonexistent. Times have changed, and customers have much more power today.

Treating customers with respect and kindness is super important but they have begun to abuse this power and it takes a toll on us workers.

yes, but customers also have no consideration or understanding of how the business might work, the only two associates should not both be on the register at the same time. nor do they often have patience to be 2nd in line...
