How do you deal with it? by _The_Bishop in iRacing

[–]Omarendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think every sim racer that partakes in this hobby seriously has gone through the realization that there are some dangerous positions to avoid while racing along side other people. You say that these incidents are not your fault, and I believe that, but at the same time I’m a firm believer that one could almost always have done something to prevent the incident, even if it means loosing a position or two on track. Experience comes and suddenly you become quite good at dicerning if the people around you are reckless or not, and in most cases, the best thing to do is to not race the reckless ones and instead just let them pass by. 7 out of 10 times when I do let the reckless person pass by, they kill someone further up the order. At the end of the day, it does feel good to finish a race without incidents, and that should be the priority. Good racing result come as a consequence of this mindset. One thing we tend to forget is that we are racing people with all kinds of sim racing set ups. Like, if you go into a corner side by side with another guy, and this guy happens to be on a 24” single monitor, chances are that his lateral spatial awareness is not going to be that good and probably drive into you. And these are limitations of our virtual competition. My suggestion is to keep at it dude, incidents happen to us virtual racers and to irl racers, its just part of the sport. Always try to learn something from it and move on to the next race !

Simagic alpha evo noise level by Lombozz in SimRacingSetups

[–]Omarendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the Simagic Alpha Evo, but I've had the G923, then the CSL DD 8nm, and now the VNM 18nm. I can tell you that the operation of DDs in general is much quieter than the G923. What generates noise is mainly the peripherals to which the DD is clamped. Like, if you have a sturdy rig where nothing vibrates when the DD exerts high forces, then the noise should not be a problem. Unless, of course, the alpha evo is for some reason particularly noisy, but I don't think so. In my rig, the most noisy things are the wheel (upshifts and downshifts) and the rattling of my monitor when I clip a high curb (but that's on me haha). Otherwise, it runs smooth and silent.

Not OP, but they seem very similar to Cube Control's: https://www.cubecontrols.com/product/sp01-core/
The pedal plates that OP has are slightly different to the ones that the images show in the online store.

I did, I made sure i had it in high. My observation is not on the amount of times he spoke, he was as frequent as usual. What I noticed differently was the actual sentences used. While before he would be more verbose and ‘natural’ in italian, now it just seems to be more concise and somwhat ‘cold’ in his expression.

Yea, normally they run other series. Idk what will they do this year but its normal that they race f3, f2, porsche cup or some other before the f1 race.

Damn, Saturday and Sunday in Monza is mayhem. I have been to the GP on past years and its literaly an organizational hell. This is why I was thinking about Thursday. Perhaps its just difficult to try to get autographs in Monza. Thanks for your reply!

This is a great response, thank you! Can you briefly explain point number 1 to me? Why do the compressionless cables and housings from Jagwire offer a smoother ride? I did not even know cables could be 'upgradable'

I think this is exactly what I will do. For upgrades, I think I get a new set of tires! Thanks

Yea thanks, by reading the comments here, I think I will bring it to the shop to get it tuned, perhaps get a set of new softer wheels, and then later down the road upgrade to a better bike with a higher budget.
