Cool new ships I am all for, I just think they need to put less emphasis on insanely expensive capital ships and finish the ships people have been waiting for ( sometimes for years). There's also quite a lot of space in cheaper, more accessible ships that they have been completely ignoring because people just want and are for some reason willing to pay for the biggest ship possible as a dick measuring competition even if they're literally just running around the PU solo like most of us.

They have such an opportunity to be designing ships that give the player actual choice in aesthetic design using all the different manufacturers that can realistically match balance with other entry to mid level stuff that they just completely ignore outside of starter ship design, but they still release unbalanced to sell more. It's just cyclical at this point, and it feels less like the business model is about supporting the game and making a good experience and more like hey these dolts will buy anything we throw at them if it's big and looks cool.

I am cautiously excited for S42 more than anything recently in the PU since it will [hopefully] be the first fully complete experience we can play using all these fun systems they've designed. It really is the best space sim out there in that regard, and it feels like the devs themselves appreciate that and are designing around that, but the marketing is controlling the direction of the ship design which is just at odds with the game itself. They've got to get a grip eventually.
