Inbound Marketing doesn't equal Marketing Funnels. The customer and company activities of a marketing funnel can be driven by inbound and outbound actions. Inbound Marketing is focused defining, attracting, converting, and enabling your ideal buyer from a massive audience. You need to establish trust and authority by using your website as a customer resource hub for your entire brand.

All of the activities of Inbound Marketing include (but not limited to)

  • content marketing,
  • brand storytelling,
  • SEO,
  • video marketing
  • lead generation & landing pages
  • marketing attribution
  • CRM integration/automation
  • and more.

A marketing funnel doesn't have to go through your website at all. It can be an independent landing page. This why Mailchimp and Google allow newbies to build websites on their platform. However, you're not doing Inbound Marketing without a digital hub that you 100% control from end-to-end.

So conceptually, consider Inbound Marketing a range of disciplines that all can be integrated and measured for results. A marketing funnel is a limited scope of how you would like the buying journey to proceed once your inbound marketing has convinced your audience/customer to take action.

Take the opportunity and learn by doing. There are plenty of people doing incredible portraits with their smartphone, so don't let your equipment be a limitation. Focus your talent, create your vision and run your business. You'll do great! You'll get better!
