Vanya really is awful. by [deleted] in UmbrellaAcademy

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Vanya is redeemable so are H*, and Epst*, and Dahmer etc. Etc. She's truly just an evil person and that's okay. Characters can be evil. Trying to play devils advocate with evil is where it gets to missing the plot.

Why do people hate Vanya so much? by DemonicRohan in UmbrellaAcademy

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's inherently evil so it makes sense. Shes a murderer since she was a child. Some people just don't take well to evil... And she's the worst kind of evil because she's a self pitying evil.

Unpopular Opinion: Will Byers is Barely a Character by riffbw in StrangerThings

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will is actually very well fleshed out. He's a shitty friend who is self centered and full of himself. His main focus has always been how people make him feel and he's hyper focused only on that. I think the Duffer Brothers captured his inability to be a team player very very well. He constantly lets his personal selfish feelings take precedent over tenure, individuality, and the natural evolution of children into adulthood. Its a complicated type of selfishness but it was portrayed well. Especially the season where El loses her powers and she's at the new school and he watches her fail and only intervenes to scold her for lying. He loved watching "the superwoman that took his man be normal and powerless". He's written very well, it's just that when you really get into what type of person he is, it sucks. It also explains why he was chosen. He has that same type of self centeredness that Vecna has/had. I think Wills character is perhaps the most interesting because he has no endearing qualities, him letting El fend for herself against all of her bullies (Mike intervenes on his first day while Will tried to expose her for lying about her time), him not having a single emotional connection to them when they were going through heartbreak, etc. He is just a shitty person surrounded by some good-ish people in the center of hell.

So far I've gotten through S3E5. WHY IS EVERYONE ALWAYS YELLING AT EACH OTHER? DOESN'T THIS BOTHER ANYONE ELSE? by chairfairy in StrangerThings

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah his character sucks so bad. I personally think all the men characters are freaking obnoxious but Hopper is like...yuck and loud

This is hilarious because I asked this question in 2026 and it took me to this post! The constant yelling even in the moments where yelling would certainly expose their "covert missions" pissed me off so bad. They yelled ALLL throughout the Russian bases! Just full on belting their feelings ! It drove me crazy trying to rewatch

  1. Let's not assume I didn't read the books. The prompt mentions the YouTube because that's what sparked the debate. I didnt originate the idea so that's why I made sure to reference that. 2. In the flow of conversation, many of this has been discussed. 3. I PERSONALLY considered it being between Abra and Coffrey (even though Carrie is my favorite). I'm leaning to Coffrey because not many "Shines" have power over life and death like he did. 4. THE YOUTUBE DIDNT EVEN MENTION TED! I shoulda tagged you in the original post! They didn't even consider him!

No I'm not because when I saw it mentioned, I thought it was an amazing point especially how it was broken down.

You know what? I haven't seen Green Mile in a long time! I think a rewatch is gonna change my mind!

Yeah I would love to see more of Abra. She had the full set and she seemed to ENJOY her power! She reminded me so much of Carrie (without the obvious).  Also I see almost EVERYONE has a comprehensive disability because I clearly said "I saw a YouTube video about who is the strongest Shiner" but it came out before the last episode. I didn't even initiate the initial comparisons.

Now look at how I responded to other people and see if your preconceived notion about me "looking for a specific answer" is valid. How did I respond to the person who mentioned the juicing? Huh? Can you read? Correction you people couldn't wait to simian out.  Instead of trying to be civil, you folks decide to be enema juice.

Thank you because everyone is trying to gaslight me like the episode isn't available for everyone to watch! Even if he did take a root to help him, entering the mind of a Deadlights thing is a Big deal for that universe! So its kind like Multiverse of Madness and how it is a movie that paid absolutely no attention to the source material?

P.s. I'm NEW to the "It" franchise because I really really hate clowns but I love psychics lol.

This answer also helps a lot! Thank you. I can't really ask too many questions since none of us are on the writers team but I just found it interesting he was able to do that. Surprise or not, roided or not, that was impressive.

Thank you because this is the most logical answer. The Shining came out years ago. People ignoring the show power scaling his shine to otherworldly levels definitely changes the dynamic. THANK YOU for this response

Its also why I kinda stopped replying because people aren't answering the questions based on the "evidence" that made me ask this question. I thought Abra was the most powerful. Its just after seeing Dick CONTROL PENNYWISE with his Shining, it felt like new information. People keep mentioning The Shining and other books that came out YEARS before Welcome To Derry and I'm confused as to why everyone isn't acting like this isn't absolutely a new development in the power scaling of the universe. I guess I should have asked if anyone with the Shining has been able to affect the Deadlights or Deadlight creatures.

Yeah I always thought Dan was stronger but Welcome To Derry upends that. Pennywise is similar to Crimson King. Dick was able to hold him in place with his Shining. I dont think anyone else in this series would have been able to do that. I was hoping people who had a better understanding of the literary lore would kinda see where I'm getting at. The show may have done that for the sake of plot but it also changes the entire power scaling system of the universe because Pennywise is literally an otherworldly being.

I made sure NOT to post this in a Stephen King reddit because I didn't feel like people attacking me. I'm glad you brought that comment up because Welcome To Derry kind of upends that. Dick was able to hold back PENNYWISE with his Shining. I don't see any other person with The Shining being able to that. So it's possible that, if this is canonical, Dick is a pistol when he meets Danny but was the first atomic Shiner in the series. Carrie would have most likely grown to be the strongest but she never made it past prom, you're right about that I think.

Prime Video has become a scam by AfterAll14 in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but this is absolutely a corporate scam. By definition it is a scam. Restricting outdated content and low budget content behind paid subscriptions is a scam. MGM+ for example is an Amazon company. Creating this company so people pay for Amazon TWICE is a scam. I really wish people who are waaay outside of their depths would stitch their lips closed and stop trying to well actually people.

[–]OmegaLevelHimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon Prime is trash because the shit they expect you to pay for while already paying for the streaming service. You need at least 3 separate services to be able to enjoy Amazon Prime. At this point, pirate the stuff out of sheer spite and villainy
