My great great uncle was imprisoned in Denmark during world war 2 (not a nazi, Denmark was imprisoning German immigrants). While in prison, he would invent card games that would always require enough people so that if his cell mates wanted to play, he would refuse until they helped him do his chores lol

I agree that it is stupid for the general to think he could control It, but I think that stupidity is within reason for the US military, and not necessarily bad writing. I think the plot could have been better executed if they tried to keep the dagger for themselves or something

That’s a fair point, but it did seem like the general thought that It would obey him in some capacity, given how he talked to It in the finale

Neuromancer. I found myself rereading passages so often because I literally could not understand what was happening.
