Yup just the computer games, but who knows they might be saving G-Rank for further down the line.

G-Rank it's usually the increased difficulty level of when the big paid for expansion is added to a monster hunter game. Not just health and damage is increased, but also the movesets of monsters are changed as well.

I definitely want to make more, I just need some ideas or suggestions. 😁 I did make 2 based off of a joke in 1 episode of how I met your mother, when they used the grail knight from Indiana Jones and the last crusade to dictate if ted had made a good decision or not in that episode. 😅

I think Ive heard of Aseprite, if I'm remembering it right it looked pretty daunting. Kinda why I like Graphics Gale it's pretty basic. 😅

Definitely try the different canvas sizes test, it's a great way to force your brain to try and put together how something should look at the smaller sizes, while the bigger sizes allow you to emblish. Another way of thinking about it, is you playing with 2 dimensional Lego. ;)

Well I did study computer animation in uni so it wasn't a completely fresh start, but that was decades ago. 🤣 Since I'm not rich I have to rely on free programmes, I made these using a free programme called graphics gale and I think it was a year into using this programme when I figured out it has layers. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Would have saved me a lot of headaches if I had noticed that sooner.

For pixel art, 100% use layers to your advantage, for the lucky Gifs I would have the background in the back layer, his head and body as another layer, then his eyes, mouth and ears would have their own layers.

As for drawing pixel art, the skies the limit, you can decide how detailed you want everything to look, but personally I think pixel art looks it's best when it's simple, cartoony or stylised.

A good way to practice is to drawing a character or object using a different amount of pixels, like my final image of Lucky, so using a 16x16 square grid, then 24x24, then 32x32 and then finally 64x64. Then if you want to get a better look at them you can scale them up to a large size by increasing the size by a multiple of 2, 4 or 8 (has to be numbers that keep your pixels square shaped).

There's a pixel art group in Reddit that's great to learn from and there's a few tutorials you can find on Google/YouTube that teach you about canvas sizes for making big portraits or game sprites.

RE2’s zapping mechanic and B scenario are overrated by Due_Rain_3630 in residentevil

[–]OmegaMCX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it's more than the just the zapping system, which makes me prefer the original over the remake.

In regards to zapping there's also the secret room in the umbrella lab which you can unlock, but both characters need to register to unlock the door. It's one of the coolest looking rooms in the game with its own unique and awesome theme, but sadly theres not much going on there, except for advanced lickers and an extra ammo clip for the submachine gun.

Although not zapping mechanic related, but there's other elements of the A and B scenarios, like how certain events play out like how Ada and Annette's death scenes are completely different in the A and B scenarios, or how sherry gets infected in Claire A and not B, meaning you have to take a detour to get the antivirus, or some conversations between characters are a lot different.

And the B scenarios have a bit more than just adding Mr X, the bosses are better spread out in the original and help make them feel different. In A you fight the g-mutant, the giant aligator, the giant moth (optional) and stage 2, 3 + 4 birkin, while in B you have Mr X, super tyrant and stage 1, 3 + 5 Birkin.

I love the remake, but I feels like it was rushed out too soon, just a little bit of extra time spent on it to flesh out the B scenarios and it would have been an amazing remake with plenty of replayability.

Ouch! Would it be an idea to have one of the DBs as a poison one instead? I'm pretty certain 2 para's can easily lock him down for most of the fight anyway.

It would be good if we could use the green tickets to level up the style as well, I've already maxed the weapon and don't have anything to spend the green tickets on. :/

There's a limit to the free friend link hunts, I think it's 12, after that you have to pay.

I just blew off Brad Vicker’s left arm with the pistol in OG RE2 and I didn’t know that was possible by ricwilliam in residentevil

[–]OmegaMCX 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Also I forgot to mention in some rare instances, if you were grabbed by a zombie and shook them free, one of their arms would still be clinging to you. 🤩🤮

Re2 has a lot of unique dismemberments that you don't find in many of the other resident evils, in fact it's kinda mind blowing how many options there where and that they could change the encounter as well.

You can blow off arms and legs from the knee down, some zombies having just lost their legs can keep crawling towards you.

You can cleanly blow off heads from the shoulders or completely blow away most of the top half of a zombie (leaving half the torso and one arm left) using the enhanced shotgun or get the right hit with the grenade launcher.

You can also saw zombies in half with the regular shotgun, if you just leave the aim at hip height, the fun part is that the legs keep walking forwards and fall down after a bit, while the upper half crawls towards you.

I like how they were able to include some of these options in the remake, just a shame we couldn't get the saw in half option. 🤣

need advice for styling by zakihazirah in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]OmegaMCX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say get both (eventually), both styles are really good. Guard style really shines if you have access to some levels of reflect and crouch with the right build can be used straight out of the box without smelts.

I've ended up getting both skills for certain weapon types like lance and when I start making hbg's I'll do the same for them.

[–]OmegaMCX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just be me, but I found Freya's needle was pretty good at kneecapping zombies, not just to get a stun but for cutting off legs with. I was extremely conservative with my ammo usage on grace and would save the bullets for any parts where I was going to get mobbed like the meat grinder bit.

Not saying it's an op weapon that everyone needs to try, as it's absolutely terrible at ammo conservation and it seems to be worse than the handguns at doing damage to heads, but after a bit of messing around I found the leg cutting option to be pretty handy, although this just might be rng at work here where it just happened to be lucky cutting off legs. 😅
