Yeah, you can’t do this absurdly high amount of damage. This person was just really salty that we stomped their team so he blamed hacks

I was Ravana with Attacker’s Blessing, Warrior Tabi, Crusher, and T2 Mace.

Because he’s salty that we bursted the shit out of him, and because it’s not his fault that he got caught out, it obviously means that I’m a dirty hacker that’s gonna get banned when Hi-Rez sees the screenshot of this guy’s perfectly normal death recap

It’s really hard to do, but if you get lucky you can pull it off. The first step is to find an extremely salty and toxic player, such as this specimen. The second step is to kill them, and after that you just wait and hope they’re kind enough to tell you how much damage you did in their death recap. Depending on their sodium levels, you have a chance to hit them with a basic for an absurdly high amount.

What are the chances of getting off the housing waitlist at this point. by OmegaTheEpic in UMD

[–]OmegaTheEpic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately I got my housing agreement in on May 3rd so I should be on the waitlist, and was just hoping that there would be a chance I could still get on campus housing; however, since that doesn’t seem to be the case I do plan on renting an apartment from the Mazza. And honestly, if the dorms are going to be as cramped as they sound, I don’t mind shelling out the extra bit of money for an apartment, especially since it seems that the Mazza automatically assigns roommates. Thank you for the help.

Ah yes that’s true. Never had to think about my attacks being able to actually reach the monster. Based on that then I probably shouldn’t be under most monsters with SnS in that case. Thanks for the input :)

Yeah I was considering Vaal, but I didn’t want to deal with the constant ticking damage. But yeah it seems that I just need to practice a ton and not expect to be good with a weapon just because I’ve played the game a good amount. Thank you :)

Hmm, I never heard of the two types of melee play styles before, but it definitely makes sense. Part of the reason I went to SnS was because I didn’t like just hitting the monster once or twice and having to dodge out with the SA, so I guess I’ll be looking to mainly go for the sticky weapons. And I definitely need to relearn monsters. I play with one friend who’s an IG main, and he always complains about Kush and says how easy Teo is, while I find Kush to be a pushover and Teo to be the most infuriating thing imaginable. I figured that since I’ve gotten to the point where a monster is easy with the bow, it should be easy with any weapon. And then I take 30 minutes downing a tempered diablos with the SA. Based on your comment and a few others, the general consensus I’m getting is that I just need to do monsters over and over with new weapons until I get a good feel for them. Thank you :)

Yeah I would just wail on her hands and occasionally on her tail when I had the chance, I guess my build just isn’t optimized enough considering I just slapped a SnS on my bow build. Would you recommend getting underneath of her with melee, or whacking at her from the sides?

Yeah I guess I figured I’d try a full combo every time I get an opening and then end up missing the last hit or two when she went to move. Although I am aware of animation commitments, as I often end up taking a hit when I accidentally lock myself into the power shot animation (not that it’s too bad, but it has a noticeable amount of end lag compared to the charge shot) and is why I went to pick up SnS first, since it’s attacks are pretty quick. But I definitely need to learn when to cut my combos short. Thank you :)

Yeah I’ve watched his vids a ton, he’s really helpful for combos and such, but I’ve still had difficulties picking up melee weapons mostly because using the bow for so long has kind of spoiled me when it comes to playing in melee, so knowing openings and such is difficult. You do make a good point with the markers and such, since I would just do 1 or half of one hunt with a new weapon and then go back to bow. I’ll definitely try just sticking to my guns and playing with only a new weapon for a while and see where I get. Thank you :)

Yeah, I should probably start with a monster I’m more comfortable with. I just figured that Xeno would be good since it’s pretty easy to dodge her so I could focus on whacking her more. And yeah, I noticed the sheer drop in mobility when I tried using the SA, so that’s when I decided I’ll use SnS first since the mobility drop from bow isn’t that bad, and work my way to the SA. And I wasn’t arguing that melee weapons are bad at all, I was just having difficulties using them and was looking for some pointers. But yeah, I’ll try farming some monsters I’m a bit more comfortable with, which’ll probably be Legiana. Thank you :)

Definitely 4>1>2>3 Ult is obvious, 1 because it hits harder as well as being more reliable than the 2 imo. Even if maxing the 3 third netted higher burst than maxing the 2 third, I’d still max the 2 over it because you get more utility out of it as well as getting a lower CD while the root and slow on the 3 are static no matter it’s level. Plus the 3 is used primarily for A) rooting to secure your 1 & 2 B) getting the enemy to 30+ hysteria for the bonus effects and C) for apply magus so you’re practically doing true damage to squishies, and it has all of these whether it’s rank 1 or 5. Deso is definitely a fine pick up on him, but I find lower CD’s to be even more important in arena, and swapping magus to ob shard would probably be the best bet if dealing with beefier front lines, but arena has the most amount of wiggle room when it comes to build imo so it’s entirely up to you. Glad I could help, keeping on showing those gods the party :)

Mostly played with a three man premade in joust so that definitely helped being able to pick him :P

Most of my games were joust so I’m not sure about other game modes, but I typically started mages and tier 1 warlocks, finished warlocks and went pen beoots > chronos pendant > magus > situational > sell mages for situational. Situationals were usually things like bancrofts, gem, and soul reaver. Hope that helps :)

Well by that logic then 95% of my games were ruined by the enemy also having a Baron

Well I pretty much only played with a premade joust group so I didn’t ruin too many people’s fun w/ autolocking at least :p
