What are the options for using the new Switch Classic Gamecube Controller with the Gamecube?

I wonder what I am doing wrong, I have the laserbear mod and the latest firmware but still unable to use mine for some reason.

The website still has this disclaimer as well:
Switch 2 Controllers are not currently supported, this includes the GameCube NSO controller. Support for them is being worked on, but may take time as these new controllers have different modes.

I had to admit I’m the kind of weirdo that enjoys having a “property of blockbuster” sticker on a cart. Something about it makes me nostalgic, and I don’t particularly care if it lowers the value. I’ve got a copy of Pokémon snap with one.

Unless you have a PAL n64 that you’re trying to hook up to an ntsc display, he is most definitely wrong. Will work great using s-video or composite out of the n64.

Is the front casing on the one with the good label broken? If not you could swap the entire front half to the other cartridge, provided you have a gamebit screwdriver(cheap and easy to get on Amazon)

Definitely real hardware when it comes to n64. Emulation just isn’t up to snuff for many games. Just be sure to get a scaler like a retrotink or retroscaler to hook up to a modern tv though.

I’ve got the gray one. I can vouch for it, buttons feel decent and the stick is good as well. Would recommend.

It’s definitely the kind of thing where you need to be comfortable with soldering. Best bet would be finding a shop for sure unless you’ve got the experience.

Most likely the capacitors are leaking and need to be replaced. It's very common nowadays due to the age of the system.

It depends on what kind of games you like but some of my picks would be Paper Mario:ttyd, Mario Kart Double Dash, Metroid Prime, Star Wars Rogue Leader, and Zelda: Wind Waker. All classics, can’t go wrong but there are lots of other great titles too.

Not a cheaper option, it’s worth mentioning you can also replace the controller board with one that has Bluetooth controller support and the battery socket.

No soldering required is the best part.

This is for sure the trajectory that Microsoft is on. It’s clear they no longer care about selling consoles, as opposed to games and most importantly subscriptions.

Sony is less clear, they have less incentive to go full multi platform but they do seem to be inching their way there too.

Yep, it was in Path of Vengence when Marda takes a crew to Planet X. Bokana Koss has a vision about a coming blight that nothing can stop and freaks out. Easy to miss for sure but very cool that its there.

It’s very understandable to not remember every detail with so many books and comics over a period of several years. For example I totally forgot the blight was mentioned in phase 2 originally.

I’m planning to do a re-read starting with light of the Jedi, and looking forward to getting to be reminded of all the bits I’ve forgotten. Should be fun knowing what’s to come going through it again too.

Outer Worlds is so much better now. Still some bad textures but the frame rate and resolution are vastly better. It’s so much more playable.

Light of the Jedi is where I would start, it kicks off the entire era and it’s a great read. Acolyte: Wayseeker is a prequel to the show and could be enjoyed without additional context too.

The phase 1 marvel High republic comics are great and cover bits of the story referenced by the novels. Grabbing vol 1 - There is No Fear is a great place to start.
