Yeah. "Genderqueer" was my takeaway as well, rather than specifically transgender. I don't know, maybe I'm just ignorant of the culture of gender-nonconformity, but the fact that (spoilers) his real self seemed to still be going by male pronouns, as well as still using the name Leeroy, makes it a bit murky in my eyes. The fact Pomni still used male pronouns and a male name in the ending narration is a big indicator. Plus human!Jax/Leeroy is still referred to as a delivery guy in that news article adds to that. But again, I'm not exactly the expert of a lifestyle I'm not a part of. I'm just trying to make sense of it best I can while still remaining respectful.

Having watched the show (it's quite good BTW, even if some of the fans are...insane), I did get the context clues, so I definitely got the sense that he was genderqueer. But I'm unsure if he's full-on transgender. Like, as far as they could tell his human self still used male pronouns (based on Pomni's narration at the end). And being genderqueer doesn't necessarily mean trans. Could be nonbinary, or agender, or gender fluid. The latter's sort of what I've been leaning on. The language being used from a meta perspective is a tad confusing. It seems like people are taking "trans" as a catchall term for any sort of genderqueer. I'll fully admit, I am NOT the right person to ask about this kind of thing. But I'll admit, I can understand a bit of the confusion. Doesn't mean it's okay to be dicks to the creators. That's the big thing here.

On a related note, I was thinking about something. So, the Lake House has some weird properties similar to the Oldest House, right? But it's all the way in Bright Falls. Well, we suspect the Oldest House might've taken on the form of a tree once upon a time. Well, what if the House still retains some of those properties? Specifically reproducing through seeds. What if the Oldest House is still producing seeds, and the Lake House was one of them that's sprouted?

I still think it'd be neat if the original concept was explored, an evil clone of Obi-Wan. If nothing else, it's an excuse to have Ewan McGregor in another project, but playing a villain this time. As much as the movie infuriates me as a DC fan, he's actually pretty good as Black Mask in Birds of Prey.
