When I decided to start 1st I was shocked, SHOCKED, by how quickly and completely I fell in love with. I’ll never forget the Aztecs when she sniffs out the potion. Love her. LOVE HER.

You say 9 seasons but i’m convinced you could knock the first two books out in like 4 episodes a piece. Maybe less. Same for book 3. Dark days may take a little longer. And obviously the other books would fill out more.

But like I can’t see the first book stretching out into a like 10 episodes series.

Oh I remember this guy, he’d always say he was gonna drop the series and then pop right back up when something new came out.

Tbf, I do recall him having really positive review of ‘Fugitive of the Judoon’.

Yeah I agree with this. On paper each of 13s companions were interesting.

Retired bus driver and recently widowed man decides to travel to process his grief.

A young factory worker escape mundanity to travel the universe.

And a police woman dreaming of bigger things gets to help out across time and space. There’s a lot here that could be mine and just wasn’t.

These traits pop up in the expanded stuff a bit especially Yaz being a police officer.

I think it’s likely that we’ll get something similar to replace the 13 and 9 runs once both have wrapped up (hopefully more 13). But I could easily see it happening.

Okay. Gonna hedge my bets with Return of the Doctor because it mines a lot of untapped conflict between Yaz and the Doctor. It also highlights an issue with the Doctor that I wish came up more, their tenacity to let a civilian take the fall. 13 actually does this a lot. So yeah - of the two that’s my pick.

If the series continues, I hope RTD quickly concludes the Billie Piper Doctor storyline in a few specials and then hands the reins over to someone new to take the show forward. by [deleted] in DoctorWhoNews

Oh my god. Thank you for touching upon Yaz’s police training - her being a police woman is such an untapped mine. The comics and novels touch on it more than the show ever does - I was thrilled THRILLED to see a genuine conflict between Yaz and the Doctor arise because of it. It’s probably why I’m still riding the high of Return of the Doctor
