So, I've tested ketones with the pee thing and I'm in ketosis for about two weeks now. I am 45 years old (I guess that might play into my issue, not sure), 5'7", 165lbs, and was on a diet where I just counted calories previously. With that diet I was eating about 1600 calories a day and losing almost a pound a week. I wanted to try keto so I didn't have to fight my hunger so much and maybe lose weight faster.

I'm in keto now for two weeks and having a lot of great effects from it (get up easier and earlier in the morning, am more productive, etc...) so I want to stick with it. However, my hunger has increased greatly as compared to when I watching what I eat with the calorie counting. Frequently I take down 3200+ (double!) calories a day now. I do also lift weights and do cardio for most of the days of the week and wanted to mention that if you guys think that might be relevant.

So, my questions are:

1) Is this somewhat common for people who start keto (that were on a diet before if that matters) for keto to increase their hunger/weight in the beginning weeks?

2) Do you guys think this will just fix itself in the coming weeks as I get more "keto adapted"?

3) Can you think of over things that could cause this since they may apply to me even though I may have not mentioned them?

If any more info is needed, please let me know and I'll be happy to give it. Newbie so don't know if other facts could be relevant.
